Very Nice Course
The good:
The price was reasonable.
The fairways and greens were in very good condition.
The greens were fast down grain, slower up grain.
The layout was interesting.
The bad:
The pace of play was terrible (5 1/2 hour round).
There was no ranger to make a very slow group let faster groups play through.
I would recommend the course, but avoid playing on Friday afternoon or on the weekend, if you can.
Good to be back !!!
My son and I decided to drive 1 hr 45 from the Nashville area to play here. I had been there since college at nearby Tennessee Tech. The course was in great shape!! Fairways were primo. The greens were some of the best public course greens I have played in TN !! Great value and will be back in the fall time !!! Go and play a state park course. You will leave with a great appreciation for golf and nature !!
Great layout
Course is in fantastic shape, greens are really quick too! The course throws everything at you with dog legs in both directions and requiring you to hit all the clubs in your bag. Do yourself a favor and play it in the fall with all the beautiful foliage.
Biggest Disappointment of the Golf Year
Goal this year was to play all of the courses along the Tennessee Golf Trail. This would've been our fifth, but never got the opportunity to play. Arrived with my diabetic alert service dog and the looks on the Pro Shop staff faces told me they did not want my service dog on the course. They seemed confused as to the laws regarding service dogs as they felt she would have to stay in the cart rather than be by my side, which she is definitely entitled to be. My wife has a lap dog and they made it clear that he definitely would not be permitted on the course. This marked the first time any state park course denied the dog entry. We'd traveled all the way from Memphis to play and wound up just leaving as we did not want to leave my wife's dog alone or make my wife stay at our rental while I played. Played the very next day at the Bear Trace State Park Course at Cumberland Mountain about 30 minutes away and the staff was the complete opposite. Welcomed both dogs and the experience was great.
Fantastic course
Great course. In great condition and fun to play.
We love this course
It’s very easy to play. Great for beginners but challenging enough for experienced players.
Tough Golf Course
Greens and fairways are really good. Sand traps are hit and miss and there are a lot of them. Many of them have rocks in them. Course is priced at $51.00 plus tax. It should be no higher than $45.00 all inclusive. It is a pet peeve of mine, but the price quoted should have the tax built into it. That is how things work at most courses. They have removed several trees that make some of the holes more playable which is a good thing.
Great greens
Greens were pure and would go back just to play the greens again. Course was overall in very good condition and can’t beat it for the money. The only gripe is that we had the first tee time of the day and as we putt out on 9, a twosome tees off on 10. I went to the clubhouse to get a drink and told them a group just jumped in front of us on 10. The ranger talks to the group then comes back and tells us they’ll play fast and to call the clubhouse if they slow us down. We wait every hole for 3 holes until we hit into them on a blind tee and now we’re the bad guys. If the staff does their job running tee times then there is no problem.
Enjoyable Day
I played Fall Creek Falls yesterday with my Son. The course is very well maintained & taken care of, the staff was friendly & it was an enjoyable day playing this course. We will definitely be back.
Nice Track
This course was in beautiful condition the day I played. It has a few tricky holes but nothing that feels unfair. The greens were quick but ran true.
A great value for the price and I would definitely play it again when I am in the area.
Great day
Very challenging course, great condition and awesome staff!
