This was a great value.
Notice that course is under new management. This course was great. Looking better everyday. The new staff is doing a great job. This could be a great treasure. The greens were fantastic. Also the length was super. The fairways were getting better. But outside the fairway, it was rough. Like it should be. The bunkers need help, Work in progress but a diamond in the rough.
7-2-13
Course keeps improving. With exception of the traps the course is very playable, the ball down, for the most part.
HORRIBLE course conditions.
Paid for 18 and played two holes before leaving in disgust. Cheap price, but waste of a drive. Weeds, rock and hard clay in the middle of the fairways!
Great greens.
I love playing here because its close to home, and always has great golf now prices. The greens are always well kept, but the fairways need more attention. We love the par 5s on this course!
Great Potential
I played Blackberry Ridge for the first time yesterday. I was impressed with the layout of the course. I understand the course has recently been taken over by new people that actually know what they are doing. The greens were absolutely perfect. You can overlook a lot of other things when the greens are in that good of condition. Yes, the sand traps need a lot of work. Fairways have a lot of grass and are looking good. I can tell work is in progress to better the course. I enjoyed it and will be returning to play there. Prices are fair and drinks/snacks and fairly priced as well.
Course Needs TLC
Course currently under new management and sure they are working as dilligently as possible to make improvements. Fairways are in poor condition. Bunkers are very hard and currently not maintained. Greens are average at best.
A really nice couse that needs a little more attention
I have always like the layout of this course from the first time I ever played it. It has some holes that look easy but are really challenging and some holes that look challenging but really are easy. The fairways are nice for the most part. A few spots needs attention. The bunkers could use more sand. A few greens need a little attention. However, overall this course in my opinion is a great course for any player. It's always one of the first course I think about playing when I want to play a round of golf. I definitely recommend it to anyone, and I've taken some friends with me several times.
this course has great potential
The fairways need a lot of attention. The Greens are excellent. Carts are good and always charged.
Bring a lot of balls going to lose them in the fairways
This place is a dump. We played this course Sunday morning 5/19 and it was horrendous. The clover patches all over the fairways were overgrown to say the least we really did lose a number of balls in the fairways. After the second hole we had to make sure that everyone was paying attention to where the others were hitting so you had a fighting chance to find it. The sand traps had no sand in them and we filling up with weeds. It also didn't help that it had basically flooded earlier that morning. There was one girl working inside and she was very nice and then what i imagine to be the new owner was out on the driving range and that was it. Water buckets were full but water was warm and it was a very humid 84 that day so cold water would have been nice. Give it time maybe it will get better but for now avoid this course and make the extra 10 min drive to Indian Hills in Murfreesboro.
decent layout but needs improvements
the greens have always been well maintained but the rough and fairways are non existent. not sure why they even built bunkers on the course...completely washed out.
Course needs work.
Played on a Sunday morning with my son. Course is under new management. Bunkers did not have sand in them and were overgrown with weeds. Fairways had not been mowed for a few days. Clubhouse might have had 2 dozen golf ball for sale and not much else. Overall this course was in horrible shape and was not worth the money we paid.
Rough
Course is in rough condition other than greens which were in good condition. Under new mgmt but nothing going on to improve course. Saw a person mowing greens and another mowing around greens. Had to look for a ball in the fairway for 5 minutes as it had rolled into a high patch of clover.
New Management is addressing issues
I booked this course as a "Hot Deal" so I really wasn't expecting too much but we were pleasantly surprised. No the course isn't the best in the area but it has been greatly improved from the last time I played it in 2012. It had rained for almost 2 days straight before we played but the course was in overall pretty good condition. The new management team has obviously identified the courses biggest issues and has been addressing them. We enjoyed our day and will be back.
This course is going to be very popular.
We played Blackberry Ridge in the afternoon. The price of $17.31 each was a great value. The course is under new management and is shaping up nicely. They have brought in sand for the traps, which was one of the negatives in the past. The fairways need to grow in some more. There are spots where there are rocks in the bare areas. The greens were, to me, one of the shining aspects of the course. They were quick and rolled very true. The undulations were tricky, but not invisible. I believe the layout of the course is one of my favorites. The only thing that is lacking is the distinction of the direction of some of the holes. Once the course repairs are done, and it has a chance to mature, it will be a gem. Keep an eye on this one. You won't be disappointed.
Fantasic views
Course under new management, working on revitalizing it.
Very challenging 18 hole course, with panoramic views
Still needs work
Has potential, but needs alot of attention
I did get a good deal for the round, however the course needs serious attention. The greens are the best feature, however their fairways and rough are horrible. They had spots IN THE FAIRWAY that had grown about 6 inches tall. I dont believe they groomed the course for at least 3 days. The course design is nice, but they need to daily groom it rather than once or twice a week. Half of their bunkers are unplayable and you have to do a free drop.
Improving every time
Now under new management, they are in the process of upgrading the course. Already this year they are working to get the bunkers back into playable.condition. Consistently some of the better greens in greater Murfreesboro area, quick and undulating! I look forward to wee what other improvements they have in store!
Jewel in the rough
This course has gotten some bad press. And yes it is in winter shape and a little rough, the layout is amazing. The new owners are committed to improving the course. They have already made many improvements. This course is known for its fast table top greens. The new owners have slowed them down making play more enjoyable. The elevation changes are brutal but the views are incredible. Highly recommend this course.
Play will only improve with time. A real diamond in the rough.
This course is under new managment and they are turning it around.
Played here today as a single. I have played this course many times before and a lot of what is said is true. The fairways need a bit of work, sand traps need work, etc. However, it was great to see the groundskeeper out and about working diligently to get the course ready for summer. When I arrived, they were fixing up the practice putting green. While I was playing, they were installing new flagsticks and cup holes. When my round was over, I took a bit of time to test out the new practice green and liked it a lot. The manager of the course, Chris, is a real go getter doing everything he can to ensure a great experience for their golfers. I expect this course will be one of the best around once they get everything finished that they have planned.
Not nearly as bad as some other reviews I've read
Greens were good, fairways were OK, needs lots of work in sand traps, but we played it in the middle of winter. I like the layout. It definitely has some challenging holes and a good variety.
