Don't do an online tee time
First want to say that you should not book this on the Golf Now website. I arrived and was told that I had wasted my money because they don't do online tee times and had to pay for my round there. Not sure why this is on Golf Now and am trying to get my $12 back.
The course itself is fair, not bad for the $9 I was supposed to pay. Included a walking cart. The staff was very friendly and the course was not crowded at all. I don't play in the fairways much anyway so it wasn't bad that there really wasn't much distinction between the fairways and rough. The greens were slow but very well maintained and small so presented a nice challenge for my short game.
I do recommend this course as a fairly easy quick 9 holes but do not do not do not book this through Golf Now because you will have to pay twice. The online tee time means nothing.
Golf in its ancient form
Some will complain about the rock hard burned out fairways, or greens that would make your grandmother’s shag carpet proud. The smell of the landfill a quarter mile away sometimes wafts through the air and a group of newbie golfers are hitting their 12th shot on the par 3 in front of you. But this is golf in it’s purest, most ancient form. Old Tom Morris played this kind of course as a child (minus the sweltering 200% Tennessee humidity).
Perfect for the golfing family. The embarrassed hacker. The golfer that thinks they’ve conquered every course out there.
Unpretentious, dirt cheap, golf as it originally was intended.
Interesting
Course layout is definitely awkward. It’s only a walking course which isn’t always a bad thing but this course feels like you’re just walking through a hardly maintained cow pasture. The greens are quite terrible, worst I’ve ever played. Very cheap though and if you just want to test out some clubs and get some practice in without plying for score, this course would be alright.
Exceptional for Beginners
I have found that this course is quite easy, but it really is not meant to be much more. It only has nine holes and is only a 35 par course. It is perfect for teaching new golfers and it is quite inexpensive.
Place to hit balls
Well this was a new experience......I am not sure how to sum this course up. If your looking to hit balls at the range but get board with that sometimes- this is a second option. But if your looking for a great game not the place for you! A great place to take younger golfers to let them get a feel for golfing. Greens are terrible- I have been over smoother roads in Pennsylvania than the greens......no path to follow and the T-boxes are not marked out- but like I said it's a place to hit balls and get out. Take it as you will.
