FYI. CART PATH ONLY THROUGH SPRING
Was disappointed to arrive and find out the course is cartpath only from fall to spring each year. I typically play during the summer so I was unaware. Course was in decent shape. They have dyed the fairways and greens so it’s a bit of a mess. Overall nice course.
It’s been awhile
It’s been awhile since I played here. The course was in good condition for end of February especially with the recent cold weather. Greens were good along with the bunkers.
Pace of play is absurd here
This was a decent course but the pace of play is atrocious here. Too many tee times and too many “locals” attempting to swing a golf club. Out tee times were 20 minutes late due to a lack of existing carts owned by the course. Pace of play was 5 hours for 18 short holes.
Overall management seems to be aloof here. Locals will ruin this track.
Top notch course
This is one of the best course in middle Tennessee. Great layout and the greens are in fantastic condition. Changing course that is fun to play highly recommend this course to anyone. .
DD'S REVIEW
Course was in great shape, pace of play was good. Enjoyed my round and will definitely be back!
Great Course
Course was in great shape. The layout is fun and a good challenge with different hole layouts throughout. I absolutely will be back to play.
No Tee Times
Booked 5 days in advance for a Thursday tee time and first available isn’t until the afternoon. Staff extremely rude. Only place in Murfreesboro that allows kids but no tee times ever available.
Great Course
Overall great experience here. Course was in favorable conditions considering the amount of rain recently. I'll definitely play this one again.
Beautiful Greens/Challenging Course
I live in Atlanta and play a lot of public courses. Old Forte’s greens are the best public course greens I recall recently. They rolled fast and, most importantly, TRUE! There was a ton of undulation that made for a complex green experience. But the most salient point about this course is that every hole has some trouble: trees, high penalizing grass, generous use of OB white markers, fairway and greenside bunkers on every hole, water lurking all about! But I gotta say it was a fair course. A lot of bunkers but they were ALL well maintained! The fringe of the greens were all well cut. Penalty high grass was intentional and obvious vs just not being cut. Kudos to the “active rangers” managing pace of play! But you need to play it twice to have context on greens and trouble spots that are not obvious- # 1 with high grass narrowing the fairly significantly that you cannot see from the tee box; and #15 with those “complex of rocks” on the right side protecting the green. What a cool course but you better be able to hit your ball!!
First time experience
Very nice course and beautiful scenery! The greens were very professionally kept and maintained!
Pace of Play is Laughable
Pace of play makes LPGA golf look like speed golf. 4 hours and 10 minutes to get through 14 holes. Then the starter had the nerve to bark at us for a cart being in the parking lot as our only route to exit the course mid-round. Renovation is beautiful but appears they shot their load on the renovation and forgot what managing a golf course looks like. Laughable. Will be sticking to the home club and avoid wasting money and time venturing out here.
Top Tier TN Course
Was absolutely blown away with my first trip to Old Fort. Drove all the way from Hendersonville but wasn’t disappointed, this course is right up there with Greystone in terms of playing conditions, absolutely immaculate. If you want a course with some length and challenge with perfect conditions look no further.
Nifty Nashville-area outpost of the Munaissance
After a summer-long renovation project by architect Nathan Crace, this well-priced and picturesque course that straddles a river 35 minutes south of Nashville is better than ever. Brand-new zoysia greens are especially impressive and the removal of thousands of square feet of sand enables some creative mounding to take center stage on several holes. A refreshed clubhouse makes for a welcoming pre- and post-round hangout spot, and the practice facility is well above average for a muni. If I lived close by, I’d be there often.
Great course
Always one of the favorite courses in the area. Staff was nice. Course was in great shape for late winter. Greens rolled so smooth & quick. We had 1 player not show and got a beginning player paired with us who showed up to walk on, which made the round take a lot longer than it should have especially on a busy Sunday morning.
