Lakeside Golf Course
About
Originally a nine-hole course when opening in 1966, Lakeside Golf Course expanded to 18 holes in 1993. The course, located close to downtown Salt Lake City, boasts views of the Wasatch Mountains. It is suitable for players of all abilities. The course was built on relatively flat terrain that features plenty of water. Half of the holes have water hazards coming into play. Lakeside Golf Course makes accuracy a priority rather than distance with several out of bounds areas and holes that are short and tight. The facility also has a practice range as well as putting and chipping areas for golfers to use.

Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Utah (2019 #13)
Reviews
Best Value
I hadn't played this course in years. I played in the National Long Drive, pro am event recently and was impressed in the great condition of the course and the greens are great! I have played many of the courses in Utah and find that the greens here are the best I have played. I enjoy walking a course and during the heat of the summer - this is a nice venue to walk and the mature trees and water are also very nice.
Course and greens in excellent shape.
The course was in great shape. Quite a bit of water and marsh areas on a number of holes, sometimes hard to spot from the tees. A couple of very narrow "necks" on fairways with lots of trouble on either side.
Greens are Rolling
Course is in great shape and the greens are pure!!! Rough is thick, stay in the fairway!
Great fun easy course for most skill levels!
A great day of golf if you are looking for a fun day. Course is easy so low handicap golfers looking for a challenge might be disappointed unless playing with family or higher handicap friends.
Simply put a relaxing fun walking course.
Staff are very welcoming to outsiders.
Great value!
plays short from the white tees
tee blocks were a little ruff
Course has been in better shape
Too much water on the course. Course was not in good shape compared to the previous times we have Ben there.
Terrible Course
OK guys... I used this site to find a good course to play in Salt Lake. I am from Minnesota and need sites like this to rate courses. There are way too many users rating this course a 4 and 5. This is a terrible course! The tee boxes were the worst I have ever played. We only played the front nine because we couldn't bear any more. Par 37 with 3 400 yard par 5's. You needed to play blue or black to make this course even competitive. If you are visiting Salt Lake to vist and golf do not go to this course. You will be very disappointed. If you are local its probably great value course, really inexpensive to play.
Nice course for our group of mixed golfers
We had a very nice time playing this course for the first time. We were happy to have a range to warm up and the course was in good shape; greens and fairways. Course was fair and staff was friendly. We finished within 4 hours, which was average pace.
Nice course
The course is pretty flat but in excellent condition. The greens roll fast and true I would play it again for sure.
Sweet deal
Greens were in great shape.
Tough iron shots.
Very pretty scenic
My wife and I enjoyed the day.
A Bad Experiance from Start to Finish
We paid for 18 holes with cart on GolfNow and had a 12:30 tee time booked. When we arrived at the course at 12:00 and checked in we were told by a very unfriendly young man that the front nine would be closed from 12:00 to 1:00 and that they would fit us in on the back where they could with the rerounds. The problem was there was no room on the back with the very crowded rerounds. Of course the groups making the turn were not happy because they were already having a slooooow round and now we would make things worse. This was unfair to those who were playing 18 and unfair to us. After a very slow first nine we were routed to the front nine to finishe our 18 holes and found ourselves directly behind a tournament playing a scramble format. No one in the pro shop told us we would be rerounding behind a tournament. When we went back to the pro shop to talk to them about the situation, they told us to just find some empty holes to play. We were only able to play 3 more holes, without interfering with other golfers. So our round consisted of 12 of 18 holes. They certainly did not care about the quality of golf they were providing us. Maybe they do not like GolfNow bookings or they just have poorly trained staff. Overall, a disappointing, partial round of golf.
fun course
fun course, they get on quickly. played as single and other players were very courteous and let me play through without any problems. staff was very nice.
Lakeside Golf
It had rained the night before and the course was quite wet. The greens were a wet and slow but in very good shape. The wet fairways were a bit of a challenge taking some shots without getting a spray of water and mud.
nice course
clubhouse always good, food to die for, can't beat the burgers, nice shot makers course.
Considering your handicap, every course you play will be competitive.
Man, so since this course isn't competitive, did you shoot under par? How did you do on holes 11-13? It is a shorter course, that being said, small greens and accuracy on approach shots is what this course brings to the table.
