Vermont Golfers Hidden Gem
Tucked down a winding dirt road, you'll find a parking lot that's always full and a course that's hiding behind the trees.
Once you pass through the gates, you'll see a masterpiece of green, fairways twist into trees....often where you'll spend a lot of time off the tee.
There's a casual culture with a friendly team and you'll find a friend before you do a ball!
Great rural course
The course is a mix of spectacular open views and shady tree lined fairways. Greens are fast and tricky. Rough is cut high, but consistent. Approach shots have to be accurate to stay on the green. Holes were well marked.
Staff, Joe, was very friendly and helpful. Not a destination for someone looking for pampering and high end after golf dinner, but a good value for this lovely, rural course. A fair price for an uncrowded course in good condition.
My Favorite Course to Golf at
This Is my favorite place to golf. I have golfed there about 7 times. The course itself is very beautiful. It is one of the only places in Vermont with a par five. The price is fantastic for what you are getting. They have a wide variety of hole types. The only bad thing I can say is that there clubhouse is very small and not the nicest. The actually course for the price is hard to beat.
Ugh....
So, I tried to find a course that was public and rural. This course was one I found from Google Maps. It isn't far from the city of Burlington. I played it early in the season so the conditions were not the best. Which is the biggest knock I have. Several greens were wrecked, I mean wrecked. I cannot imagine they are repairable. Tee to fairway was pleasing to look at but fairway to green was blah. Small greens that were not holding shots at all. This is a course for guys to go out and drink and have a good time. This is not a course for perfecting your game. If you are looking for a better course in the area, very limited options. Williston Golf Course is the best local public course. Williston is not a must play, but worth playing. This course is not a must play, and avoid the drive.
