A true gem in a beautiful setting.
If you are a golfer living in or visiting central Vermont put this course on your “must do “ list. The Highland course offers lush fairways, challenging par 3’s in a spectacular mountain settings. The staff is consistently both friendly and knowledgeable.
I am confident that after one visit you will longing to return ASAP.
River and Lake side Golf
Lakeland runs along a river and around a lake with 17 of the 18 holes near water. The layout is flat with tall trees on some of the fairways with a challenge present on each of the holes. Tees and Greens are in good shape but the fairways suffer from winter conditions. Course maintenance works hard to get the course into great condition and the emergence of the sun in this central Vermont area makes all the difference. Helpful staff who often voice their own experience on the courses to guide you. Views are easy on the eyes and the golf should not be missed.
Great Golf
The course is a challenge for any golfer. Ranging from a relatively flat to a semi mountain terrain the layout requires precise ball placement but is still amenable to the long ball hitter. It's still early season with a tough winter behind us and the course is slowly recuperating. A beautiful course that ranges from wide open to forested to sloped fairways. At its best the greens run smooth and easy but require a keen eye to gauge the path to the hole. Magnificent views and should not be missed.
Very nice course
we arrived there with no idea where we were going to play. The first day, upon recommendation from the pro shop staff, we played the lake course, that goes by the river. It was a fun and pretty course. So nice, that we were tempted to stay another night and play the mountain course, which is more difficult. I'm a 6 hcp and my girlfriend a solid 25, but hits it very long. We had a great time, and incredible views. Don't expect to shoot good scores the first time around the mountain course as it is extremely difficult to choose driving objectives; there are many blind shots and the tee's height makes it impossible to judge your landing distance. But by all means, play both courses.
Staff is very nice also
