Rude staff
I have encountered unpleasant staff members at the Pine Crest Golf course. His name was Greg. He is supposed to be the one who arranges for customers with tee-time reservations and is responsible for sometimes pairing up with other players to facilitate and ensure customers play on the golf course on time during busy hours of heavily booked tee times such as Friday and weekends.
As a single golfer/fairly new to playing on the golf course, I was 5-10 min late for my tee time which had already been reserved at noon 9/9/22. I checked in at the office then I cam outside and saw Greg. Greg told me I must wait till 12:40p to get to start my first holes. While waiting, I asked him if I would be playing single this time, and his response was this:
"No. you will be pairing up with someone". Then suddenly spoke in a mocking voice that became more cynical and even his words and body language appears to be patronizing: "You think you can play single on a busy Friday? huh? You were late so I tried to put it in a different spot. "
My response to his rudeness was just being 'poker-faced". yes, I was a little dumbstruck by it. To make matters even worse, he told me that it was my facial expression that he interpreted as if I had bee upset with not being able to play alone. First, I never demanded that I play single on Friday 9/9. Second I was a little disappointed that I had to play with some random strangers but I was fine with it. For a brief moment, while I was making mental adjustments and getting accustomed to going with the flow of other golfers, this staff named Greg interjected (with raised voice by this time) that I can now go play with the other player. The time was about 12:20p.
So I asked him "I thought I am starting at 12:40p so can I still go now?"
Then, he looked frustrated, and now his tone started to sound more cranky, irritable, and yet patronizing condescending raised tone, asking me directly "
"ARE YOU GOING TO PLAY OR NOT!!!!!"
I was like ::: that is it::::: There is a fine line between him just innocently blurting out insensitive remarks to customers vs being inappropriate, prejudiced, judgemental, and rude!
There was a manager who happened to be in the office. when I told her what happened, it was clear to me that she was trying to de-escalate the situation by justifying Greg's behavior to his origin. That is, he is a typical 'mean' new yorker who can be very blunt and direct (just says it like it is.). Oh well, I still think there is a fine line between your blunt/direct new yorker or blunt Russian and being inappropriately patronizing to the customer.

Value
I love this little track when I just want to get out and work on irons. Even from the tips you can get away with leaving the woods at home. Course is in good shape for the amount of play and price. Never had a real issue with pace of play here and the FW's are in good shape. If u spray the ball, this course could be a tough one for you as most of the FW's are pretty narrow. Staff is always friendly. Very easy to walk after the first 3 holes.

Great and tricky course
Everyone here was really nice and friendly the course was good and pace was good. It’s a nice course for the value and you’ll learn a thing or two every hole. Course conditions was solid :)
