little course with a great staff
this is a little 9 hole course in the middle of nowhere . I went there we had a family matter going on so I kind of snuck out to squeeze in 9 holes . The staff was super friendly the owner is a third generation owner his dad took over from his grandfather and I can say the grand father and father raised a very respectful young man thanks guys for the hospitality if I am ever out that way again i will be sure to hit this course again
Interesting layout , greens really good for April
Played 9 holes with wife in late April ,
Staff were very friendly .
Bermuda fairways and tees really not growing yet ,should be plush by end of May /June. Some of Ladies tees need work.
Greens and approaches in really good shape and rolled nicely.
More Fedora Fun at the Creek
Returned to Hat Creek for another 18. With course knowledge I scored far better. This time I met Jacob’s father and grandmother. All work there. This is quite the family business. All are extremely friendly and helpful. Had a fun round of golf and again a burger after. Note: When they say “head to the beach” they mean it literally and are not necessarily speaking of the sand traps on the course. The have a nice sandy beach complete with diving boars and slides into water. They also have a large Slide/Fort/Swing set on the sandy beach. etc. behind the club house along a large pond. Thanks for a fun round and a nice time. MERRY CHRISTMAS ! Ed
First round at Hat Creek G.C. will not be my last
I am not from the area and found the course on Golf Now. When I arrived and walked up, I was greeted by Jacob who was heading in the same direction I was. Everyone there was very helpful, personable and upbeat. The cart was ready for me to load up and head out. The Course was in very good condition considering it was December golf. The entire course is well kept and is aesthetically pleasing. The greens rolled well and smooth. This is a 9-hole course and therefore I went around twice.
The opening hole is a par 3. I am not a big fan of the first hole being a par 3 (bogeyed the hole the first time and pared it the second go round). Note-I scored better my second time through the course. The fairway on Hole #3 is pitched to the right. If you are a righty, with a slice, this hole will be a challenge. Hole #5 is the number one handicapped hole. Two good shots are needed on this tree lined, hard dogleg right hole. You will need a well-placed tee shot and strong 135 yard uphill second shot for a birdie opportunity. Hole #6 is a par 5 left dogleg the is uphill all the way. What make this hole difficult is that even with a good tee shot making the full climb to the plateau is a challenge. #8 is a comfortable downhill then gradual uphill par 5 that plays very fair. #9 can be visually daunting but if you trust the numbers the landing zone is generous and sets up for a nice second shot to the green (I birdied this hole the second time through). After the round I had a burger, fries and a coke. The food was very good and priced fairly. All in all, I had a fun, good round. I can recommend this course to others and will play it again when I am back in the area. Thanks Ed
Hat Creek Weekend
The friendliest staff you will find anywhere. They make you feel like a member and treat everyone the same. This is a 9 hole course that can be challenging at times. I would recommend getting in a round there if you ever can. A nice out of the way course that is easy to find.
Laid back atmosphere
Had a great morning round. Played twice to get 18 in. Some holes are very challenging and it helped a lot to play the 2nd time thru with someone familiar with the course. Will def be back. Super friendly staff and great burgers!
Hat Creek 7/14
Nice 9-hole course. The friendliest people you could ask for. Fast pace of play. If you are along driver, you will not need your driver on too many holes. Course management is critical on this course.
Hat Creek First TImer
A fun course to play. The staff is the friendliest I have run into ever while playing. This is a 9-hole course with a nice layout. There is some water and course management is critical on some holes. A couple of the par 4 holes you can drive if you are a power hitter. I am not but got to use a lot of different irons and kept my driver in the bag except for the two par 5 holes. This is family run and customer service and friendliest course you could ever play. The ranger saw a group slowing things down and addressed it quickly. Just a fun place! Thanks Bill and Jacob.
A Great Adventure!
The course was in awesome condition. Greens were in perfect shape. I recommend taking a cart which was included in the price. Jacob treated me like we had been friends since birth.
This is a must play and .
Best Customer Experience by far!
Jacob checked me in and gave me the heads up about the 5th hole and personally walked me to my cart. I even got to meet his Grandmother!
Family owned course for somewhere around 50 years!
9 hole layout that you play twice to get your 18 in.
Jacob did suggest the fact that they have the best burgers around but unfortunately I did not have time to enjoy one.
I will next time when I'm in the area again.
Southern hospitality at its finest.
Course was in great shape despite a huge rainstorm the night before which of course made the greens very receptive.
Do yourself a favor and go play Hat Creek and you'll see what I mean.
God bless Jacob and his grandmother and the crew at this facility.
Great Golf Outing at a Hidden Gem of a Course!
Bill, the owner of this course, offers top notched customer service and is also extremely supportive of Military Servicemembers! I had an awesome experience and I will definitely be back
Nice 9 hole track
Nice 9 hole track, challenging, greens are in excellent shape. Pace of play on the slower side. Staff customer service was excellent. Would go back if closer.
Amazing Staff and Fun Course
Not an overly long course, but there are some blind shots. Greens were in great shape. It was great chatting with Jacob and his family in the pro shop. The burgers at the grill are a must if you play here!
Awesome!!!
