Lake Land Village Golf Course - Generation I & III Course

We played numbers 3 and 2. The course was in great shape, soft greens and standard pace of play. Challenging narrow fairways with mature fir trees make hype course more difficult than it appears. Plenty of vertical with some blind shots and cross slopes on the fairways. Course is in the middle of a quiet community. Would recommend this course.

a great round with a bad score!, fairway's & green's were in great shape, only 1 temp green, with a "soup-bowl' for a cup! my first expierence with a oversized cup! I would recomend the drive to my fellow golfer's! Well worth the green's fee's & drive! a top 100 !

"nicely kept fairway's, putting green's were also nice. The course is in great shape for this time of the year, play's long on the par 5's... only 1 temp green, with a "oversized 'cheater cup"... 8" ...? my first time playing with a cup this size. Overall a great round, with a bad score!

Only two bad things, all the greens were extremely airorated and made putting extremely difficult and the fairways were really wet at 12:00pm with dew and it was a sunny day.

This is a beautiful course, I've played several times and always enjoyed the experience. Very challenging with lots of elevation change. Greens were in great condition,pin positions were borderline devilish. The only negative is that there is no water on the course, and no beverage service. On a hot day, and walking as we were, it definitely detracts from the enjoyment of this wonderful facility.

Played Generation II and Generation III. Pace of play bogged down quickly, and no staff was to be seen. The greens were in great shape, the best condition I have experienced them to be.

The value, at $14 for the round, was great.

It's challenging without be over the top difficult; pleasant surroundings, nice layout.

There were no Marshal and members did not move very fast and treated people other then members lake they did not want any outsiders playing. with no one watching members just started any ware and cut in on nonmember's as if they can do anything they wanted.

I play here quite often, parents live on the course but are not members. I play at least a couple dozen different courses a year in the state and this is always one of the most enjoyable rounds. Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly members. For the price it can not be beat. Practice green is pristine and two driving ranges are on grass with non-range balls (for the most part, it's a mixed bunch but it's nice to hit longer clubs in an open range that aren't restricted by range balls, plus the larger range gets mixed wind directions making it even better for practice) and aren't crowded make this an awesome place to practice. Greens are in far better condition with the exception of a couple greens that don't get enough sun than any other course around in a similar price bracket. Very challenging but fair at the same time. Course isn't all that long, but well designed for walking and many of the holes can be played with varying strategy, especially when the course firms up in the summer. There is a short nine hole course for someone looking for a more casual round that is nicer than other nine hole courses in Mason county and the other 2 nines are much different from each other, making the round more intersting. Generation 2 puts a lot of emphasis on shot placement while Generation 3 benefits longer hitters with many birdie opportunities. Easy commute from Tacoma and not bad from Seattle for someone looking for a great value and something different.

Nice place to play if you like hilly courses. Fairway and greens are well-watered and course lots of dogleg left holes, so if you draw the ball you should score well.

We had a great time and the staff was very friendly.....we will go back for sure. We even saw a couple deer wandering around that seemed tame.

The greens are a good speed and test your abilities.

The course is very well maintained. The greens are able to hold approach shots. No pressure but plays fast. Red tees are fair in relation to other tees.

Lakeland Village is one of the lesser-known tracks in the Puget Sound region, but it is an impressive course. Greens were slick, though the fairways were very wet in places, even after a few days of 80-90 degree temps. My regular golf partner and I walked the course in the high heat/humidity, which magnified two minor shortcomings: a serious dearth of (working) drinking fountains or water coolers, and a paucity of porta-potties. Having served a year in Iraq, I am keenly aware of the axiom, "Hydrate or die!" With the average age of golfers out there that day hovering between 60-70, that could result in some serious heat injuries. (Fortunately most of 'em were driving golf carts.) Even carrying my basic load of drinking water (one gallon), I ran out before the turn. And the natural result of effective hydration is a full bladder. That situation was more awkward than usual because the fairways and greens are surrounded by homes, many of which had their occupants watching from the decks and balconies. No tree watering possible there!
Aside from those two minor gripes, playing Lakeland Village was a very pleasant experience. 99% of the residents who were out in their yards were very friendly and hospitable, even pointing out where our tee shots had landed. Course staffers were likewise friendly. The compact pro shop has a bargain loft crammed full of...bargains! I snagged a new pair of "Oregon Mudders" winter golf boots for a great discount.
Pre or post-round eats can be had at the small snack bar, or at one of the good joints in the surrounding communities of Belfair or Allyn.
All in all, I'm really looking forward to my next round at Lakeland Village!

Fun to play. Course is in good condition. Greens were a little slow but true. We'll definetely be back more often.

Very enjoyable course. Staff very friendly and helpful. Players on course were very friendly and courteous.

Lakeland Village is probably my favorite course in the Hood Canal/Kitsap area. I try to golf twice a week and would golf there all the time if they would open the Hot Deal tee times to single golfers!

The course was minimally populated on a Monday. The greens were very fast. I played it in 3.5 hours but I was alone. I only had to play through one group over 18 holes. I put four hours on the survey because I was alone for the 3.5 hours.
