For the amount of rain this area received earlier in the year the overall condition of the course was miserable.
Fairways and greens were not in good shape and the greens were especially inconsistent, bumpy with many dead or dying sections.
Having played this course many times in the past I was distressed to see the course condition in such bad shape.....
Maintenance Staff???
The only place i have seen a ball bounce more than on these greens is a basketball course. Appears that they mow about once a month. For all of the rain the area got this summer the fairways were sparse except for the weeds. Have a few very good holes, #2 for example, and then others that make you wonder what they were thinking. #7 comes to mind; all it needs is a windmill or clown's mouth to complete the goofiness. Not looking to make a return visit.
Good deal for the price
I play this course several times a year and have good experiences. The last time I played the course, it was in need of mowing. There were mowers on the course, but the grass just off the fairway was over 4" tall and very hard to locate a ball. Greens in good shape, fairways a little hard. I will play the course again, but do wish there was a little more attention to the fairways. Overall a good course, especially for the Golf Now pricing.
Course not worth the drive
Fairways weren't mowed greens slow and rough bunkers unplayable definitely wont be back worst course I've played this year
Fun course
The course is great for those not wanting to pay a lot but get a lot out of a round of golf.
Uninteresting Layout & Poorly Maintained
This was my first time to play this course and I wasnt sure what to expect. This will also be my last time to visit Crimson Creek. The course was not well maintained. Fairways were dry, hard, lots of weeds, and dirt spots. Bunkers were terrible, just like hitting off hard pan. The greens were ok... I think that is the only place on the course that sees any water. I also felt that the course had a somewhat boring layout. For $15 with a cart the price wasnt bad, however I am happy to pay $5-10 more to play a much better course!
Fun lay out.
No flat greens. They all have some undulation. Greens were a little slow but considering the 99 degree heat, they were being watered frequently. Sand traps were firm with little to no raking required. Fun course at a great price w/cart. We had a 3:07 PM tee-time but arrived at 2:00 pm and they said play when you are ready, so we teed off @ 2:30 PM. Will definitely play it again.
questionable value
This is an interesting course with lots of geographical quirks which makes it fun. Challenging but playable at the same time. If only it was kept in better condition - weeds and brown grass everywhere on the fairways. Greens all played differently - about half had been sanded so that figures in. Overall I'll play here again for a discount but no way at full price.
Nice course with lake view, undulating greens.
Had a good time. Greens are more challenging than my home course, but the holes are shorter. Places a premium on hitting the greens in regulation so one can have two putts to par. I think hitting in regulation would be doable for someone with my handicap once one becomes familiar with the course. Sandtraps were not well maintained, but the recent weather (F5 tornado and flooding) might have something to do with that. I wish it were closer to my home.
The course is awesome for the cheaper cost than most around our area.
I always have a good time at this golf course. The pace of play is always good, course is always well maintained, and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend better hot dogs but the 19th hole is awesome so maybe that is the smarter way to go!!
Cheap fees but not enjoyable
My son and I have played the course twice separated by about 8 months. Both times we encountered rude behavior from golfers who are residents of the adjoining neighborhoods as evident by the non-clubhouse carts they were driving. On several occasions we were nearly struck and heard no "fore!" shouted. We maintained a good rate of play, finishing out in about 4 hours but were intercepted by club staff and asked to allow resident parties to play through when they were no where near us. Often we would be at the green and the party behind us would still be in the fairway of the last hole. The course scenery is lacking and not well maintained. The first time we though it was a fluke but after this last outing, we will not be back...
Tee Time spacing was non-existent. Result was non-enjoyable Golf.
No scenery. Tee times non-existent. I am currently traveling the country, asked for club rentals & they did not have one full-set. There were 4 of us in our group. Had an awful time.
Course was overbooked and needs attention
This golf course is not in very good shape and was a very slow round of golf. I noticed many groups of 5 on the course as well as singles and groups of 2. The pace of play was very slow and there were no marshalls on the course to help speed up play.
I do not recommend this course as it is not in very good shape and not well run.
Bad Course
Course appeared to be neglected. Grounds were very hard, grass was minimal, cart paths were broken up, etc. Course appeared to be for the younger age group as there were multiple groups of younger aged adults goofing around, etc. Wouldn't recommend to friends.
Great Layout, Maintenance Needed
This course has a fantastic layout with water coming into play on many of the holes. The greens had recently been aerated, so there was some expected bumpiness on the greens. The fairways don't appear to ever get any water if it's not falling out of the sky. The bunkers are terrible.... rock hard in places. If you book through golf now and get a round with cart for $18, there's not much to complain about. If you pay full retail though... not worth the money.
Short but Challenging
Great small course but still very difficult. The front and back nine seem like completely different courses. Back nine is very nice and hard as most holes wrap around the lake. Once winds start to blow you are in for a long day. Good course and it will be very great in Spring and Summer when the course turns a little greener.
Moderate difficulty, friendly atmosphere
course is a little dry due to lack of rain, but is in good condition. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant was closed due to remodel, but that is not a major factor. Easy access from the interstate.
overall, good course for the money. I will play more in the future
Tough when the wind blows...
The greens are coming back from the fall aeration and should be fantastic again this year. This is a course that appears easy but can bite you if you don't give your full attention.
Excellent for the price
This course is challenging enough for experienced players but also good for weaker players when played from the white tees. The front nine and back nine almost feel like two different courses, which makes it interesting in itself. Not too far from OKC to be inconvenient. I highly recommend it.
Very fun course to play!!
I had an excellent day of golf at a nice course. I can't wait to play there again!!
