Tucked amidst the waterfalls, peaks, forests and canyons of the Columbia River Gorge lies a rustic mountain resort called Skamania Lodge. The Lodge offers a challenging golf experience you will not soon forget! This 9-hole par three course winds through the forest and around ponds, with peace, quiet and perhaps some curious wildlife many times your only company. The course is designed for walking with a very few carts available for ADA purposes, which must be reserved in advance by calling the Golf Shop. Located about an hour east of Portland, cross the Bridge of the Gods in Cascade Locks and follow the signs.

Scamania is an exceptionally maintained course with the best fairways I've played on for cources in the mountains. This course truly requires patience and accuracy is president to to distance if you ar keeping score.

PACE

I love everything about this course! It's unforunet though that the pace of play everytime I'm here is terrible!! It took nearly 6 hours to play 18. The groups were already backing up on the 3rd tee box. It wasn't even a weekend. Friday morning tee time at 10:30 should be able to get through this course in just under 4 hours. I don't know what there theory is with their marshalls but they need to be a little more firm when asking people to increase their pace. Sitting around at every tee box gets a little annoying!

Bang for the buck

The beautiful views of the Columbia River and majestic trees offer an inside look into the difficulties of tight fairways that are surrounded by old growth forest. The conditions are ideal with emerald fairways and greens. The cost makes it a value for any level of golfer. The pace of play is continuous with little to no wait. I strongly recommend this course to anyone. I do suggest a cart be rented for the round as the course has some severe sloping hills

Ball Eater

Amazing and unforgiving. Must play target golf. 3,4 and 5 irons are your go to clubs. If you miss the fairway, bye bye ball. Beautiful views and great food in lodge. A place where you can shoot 37 on front and loose six balls on back. So much fun playing there. Nobody walks it.

Totally enjoyed, I'll be back.

I found a hot deal at $11 for 18 holes. So I jumped on that. This place normally charges $79 for non-guests for 18 holes on the weekend in the summer. I personally have a hard time spending more than $40 on 18. I probably wouldn't pay $79 for this course but it's a resort/lodge so it is what it is. It's not the nicest course I've play but at the same time it's not mediocre in any way either. Great scenery. Course was well maintained. Staff was accommodating. Provided lots of challenges. Course management is key at this place. Did not use my driver a whole lot, some pretty narrow fairways. I opted to ride being as I had never played here before. Front nine is totally walkable. Back nine gets a bit gnarly so I recommend a cart at least for the back nine. The back nine is also the more challenging side of the course. I live in Clackamas so it's about a 45 minute drive for me, which I plan on making time and time again (during the summer). If you see a hot deal for this place, JUMP ON IT. It's worth the drive.

What a great place to play golf!

The course at Skamania Lodge will challenge your golf game! Tight fairways, undulating greens and gusty winds all add up to a challenging round. With that said, I truly enjoyed my round at Skamania. I walked 18 and didn't find it too difficult to do so. There was not any water available on the course when I played, so I recommend bringing your own. The condition of the course was good. Overall I was very very happy with the round, and highly recommend Skamania. The views are just amazing.

Great day at the course...

Awesome weather... the course was in pretty good sh.ape considering a heavy rain 48 hours prior. The greens rolled true but a bit slow. Narrow fairways and not many level lies out there make for the biggest challenge. Great place to play periodically for sure

Great but challenging course

This is a great course to play. However the narrow tree lined fairways can be a bit tough, make sure you bring plenty of balls with! It's in good shape, friendly staff, greens are in good condition and the fairways are also nice, albeit tree lined and narrow! Pretty decent view, a few holes have spectacular views!

Bring extra balls

Narrow and hilly with heavy forest just off the fairways throughout. If you are not hitting it straight off the tee you will lose a lot of balls. But it's a fun and interesting layout and in good shape. Lots of elevation and contour in the fairways, but the greens are fairly straightforward. A workout to walk, but doable.

Great February special!

This course is generally closed in February due to winter weather conditions but with mild temps they were able to open. I played this course two weeks ago and it was a little ruff around the edges but playable. Course condition greatly improved since because; continued mild weather, and drying East winds enabled the grounds crew to get out on more of the course and mow. Greens were in good shape and fast. This is a fun challenging course and forces me to play smart golf because if you miss the fairway its bye bye golf ball. I and several friends (Retirees) look forward to playing more as course conditions continue to improve and great discounts are available at golfnow.com

Gof Now I don't like your website changes

Skamania is a great place to play. My review is to Golf Now's new website. I hate it. I miss the way it was where you could see all the courses in your area and choose where you wanted to play, instead of just having some courses there. I also like the US map just in case the course you want to play is in another state that you are going to visit on vacation.

I can't find that map on your website. I cannot find the listing of all the courses that partner with golf now. For example, I could not find the listing for Skamania when I wanted to book my tee time for this past Wednesday. Luckily on Tuesday Skamania sent out a special golf now listing, otherwise I don't know how I would have booked a tee time with them.
