Beacon Rock Public Golf

Took 48mins to play 2 holes. Men’s group take precedent and all others must either jump around holes to play a full 18 or sit behind the slowest golfers ever. Greens are full of cracks and clovers. Ball jumps around cause they do not take care of the course. Multiple teebox spots on course that are trashed from people not fixing divot and zero grounds crew. Employees are more worried about socializing amongst each other than doing anything. Disgusting bathrooms inside clubhouse and kitchen “restaurant” always closed. Treat yourself better and play elk ridge or go to camas meadows. If you want a money saver course go to hood river or portland

It's a fun 9 hole course. For 18 you go around again. Very crowded on a summer weekend. I don't think they have specific tee times. If you show up and pay they stuff you on to the course no matter how many people are already playing.

We had a great time, but unfortunately it’s no longer a golf course. The greens are no longer playable and missing substantial amounts of turf. Hopefully one day someone can invest the money and time the greens and tee boxes require to become a playable course again.

Go! This course is a fun 9 hole course that has 9 extra tee boxes that are used to make it a 18 hole course. The greens are in awful condition right now, The tee boxes are all overgrown and the fake coyotes pooping give this place another level of class. There is no-finer clubhouse and staff i’ve found. Little course big action. If greens were better this place would be an easy 4star. Great place and good price 43.00 with cart

The course was horrible. Fairways dry. The Greens were terrible! It could be nicer course if they put some work into it. Drove an hour to a cow pasture.

The layout of the course was great, and the pricing was excellent. If the greens were improved I would definitely be willing to pay more and go out there more often

Great course to do an early solo round if you want to test out the new irons your wife doesn’t know you bought. Staff is friendly and groundskeeper is incredibly nice and outgoing. Interesting course layout, I don’t get my driver out of the bag until hole 4 due to short fairways leading into doglegs. This would be a great course except for the greens, which are terrible. This is NOT the course to practice your putting skills, greens are covered in weeds and moss, dry patches, and uneven divots,

Should be ILLEGAL to charge people to play this course. The greens? HORRENDOUS. Don’t even bother. This course is cheap and NOT CHEAP ENOUGH. And clearly for good reason. We will never be back.

This is a super fun course to play solo and a great deal if you're willing to show up at sunrise. The greens are in need of a little love as they are rough in some ares, but the fairways are in good condition. This is a 9 hole course that can be played twice for 18, but I feel like they lack accounting for that when scheduling tee times. Every time I round from 9 to start again there are several groups colliding to start on hole 1/10. This last time there 4 groups in line to tee off and several people gave up and went home.

We have enjoyed this beautiful course for several years, it has never been a well groomed course, but still fun. You are doing an excellent job getting it in shape, and beautifying the place. So happy the county has taken it over.

I know they recently went through a change in ownership, but it's frustrating playing a course with greens in such rough shape + fairway/rough grasses are really long. Early in the season, but I hope they're able to get things back rolling properly again. We'll be back but will probably give them some time to make some adjustments first.

My review would be much lower if I didn't love the staff and feel for the transition - no easy task all the way around.

Challenging despite its short length. Interesting doglegs and narrow fairways. Low price and low pressure course to just relax and have fun. A few iffy greens.

Let me begin with the positives:

- BEAUTIFUL course location next to the Columbia River Gorge.

- EXTREMELY HOSPITABLE course staff.

- DELICIOUS clubhouse food.

- ENGAGING course layout.

Where I was left wanting more:

- The course greens were in very poor shape, to the point where a two putt from 10 feet would be considered a success (note: I played the course in February during rainy season). This is really what the review comes down to - I left after my round feeling as though I had fun, but not as though I’d played an actual round of golf given the green conditions.

It’s a nice course in the gorge, not the greatest conditions but for the price it’s well worth it

Beautiful views of the mtns, nice scenery but course had nothing but hackers on it, greens were burnt out in patches as well as the fairways in spots, the play was slower than a dead turtle trying to cross the rd! we tried to play 18 but after it took 21hr 45 minutes so we called it quits. If your a hacker and not serious about golf, this is your spot, but at least staff was very friendly.
