Great round, enjoyed the layout
Haven't played Foster in a few years. Pace was slow as there was a large group in front of us. Green is great shape for July.
Great sunny day in Seattle
Course was very nice. Good shape, greens were some of the best.
Very accommodating, but very slow
My wife and I play here 10-15 times a year. The course was in very good condition and it even seems like the drainage has improved over the past few years. Staff is always friendly and the drinks at the turn are consistently good.
On the downside, the pace was the worst we've ever seen. We only managed 17 holes, having leap-frogged a poorly behaved foursome with 3 open holes ahead of them, but a 5-hour pace on this short course is too much. There was a 3-group backup on every hole of the front 9. Nothing a marshal couldn't handle, but we've never seen one here.
Windy day but a very quick round
Seemed like the weatherman scared off most golfers but we found a sunny (yet windy) break and played between 3 and 5pm without one rain drop. Fun and quick round that only cost us $16 a piece on GolfNow. This course is pretty easy but nice to get out and play every so often. The off course amenities (Billy Baroo's) is definitely one of the nicer establishments in the area and well worth the stop in. Drink prices can be spendy but the food is good!
Rainy Friday
We were late arriving, but greeted warmly and sent to the first tee. Pretty much had the course to ourselves in a light mist/drizzle. 4 hr round including two rain delays. Frank took care of us with the carts on arrival and departure.
Nice Course for a mid-day play
Our tee time was at 12:30 on a weekday. Not busy and was able to start right away. Course is good with the right amount of challenging holes.
Fosters
I golf Fosters often throughout the year and this last time i was impressed with course conditions. Definitely will be coming back over the summer.
Crowded with 2 somes
Stacked up with a bunch of 2 and threesomes hitting into each other.
Great First Round of the Year
This course is not going to leave you very challenged at the end of the day, but it is a great way to get the season started. Front nine is way easier than the back, but that said the back is that difficult either. Conditions have been great both times I play, and have never experienced an issue with pace of play (I go out at 6-7AM though). Bar is great and staff is friendly. If this place was a little cheaper I would play it more often, but I would rather challenge myself on a tougher course for the same price.
Nice course, greens have a fair amount of debris.
We enjoyed a good round, got stuck waiting for a glacially slow foursome, then skipped a hole to go around them. This proved to be unfortunate as the foursome had backed up several groups, so we never could make up that hole.
The bar was not unusual but the gal tending was surly and did not know prices of food unless she rang it up. And wow was she annoyed when she rang it up and I ended up not wanting to buy $5.50 French fries. Prices ended up disappointingly high for bar food.
Bottom line: Definitely a good course, trees drop a lot of debris on the greens (may be a time of year thing), may have slow play, expect overpriced bar food if you like to eat at the course.
Holiday weekend
I knew it might be a little slow. At 4.25 hours we had only gotten through 13 holes could not finish because we had dinner plans and it was just Way To SLOW!!! To finish. Probably another 2.5 hours maybe more.
A day golfing
Zipped around the front in less than 1.5 hours but over 2 on the back. Course is in good shape for early in the season here, greens rolled true. Sort of a sewage smell on 6 and 7.
Foster links
This course is short and a decent challenge. It is a good course for the year's first round or for an ego builder.
Course is in great shape
Great practice course. The greens are in the best shape I've seen them. Pace of play was fast considering the volume of players on the course. I just wish the wind was blowing the rendering plant smells away from the course.
