Great First Round of the Year
This course is not going to leave you very challenged at the end of the day, but it is a great way to get the season started. Front nine is way easier than the back, but that said the back is that difficult either. Conditions have been great both times I play, and have never experienced an issue with pace of play (I go out at 6-7AM though). Bar is great and staff is friendly. If this place was a little cheaper I would play it more often, but I would rather challenge myself on a tougher course for the same price.
Nice course, greens have a fair amount of debris.
We enjoyed a good round, got stuck waiting for a glacially slow foursome, then skipped a hole to go around them. This proved to be unfortunate as the foursome had backed up several groups, so we never could make up that hole.
The bar was not unusual but the gal tending was surly and did not know prices of food unless she rang it up. And wow was she annoyed when she rang it up and I ended up not wanting to buy $5.50 French fries. Prices ended up disappointingly high for bar food.
Bottom line: Definitely a good course, trees drop a lot of debris on the greens (may be a time of year thing), may have slow play, expect overpriced bar food if you like to eat at the course.
Holiday weekend
I knew it might be a little slow. At 4.25 hours we had only gotten through 13 holes could not finish because we had dinner plans and it was just Way To SLOW!!! To finish. Probably another 2.5 hours maybe more.
A day golfing
Zipped around the front in less than 1.5 hours but over 2 on the back. Course is in good shape for early in the season here, greens rolled true. Sort of a sewage smell on 6 and 7.
Foster links
This course is short and a decent challenge. It is a good course for the year's first round or for an ego builder.
Course is in great shape
Great practice course. The greens are in the best shape I've seen them. Pace of play was fast considering the volume of players on the course. I just wish the wind was blowing the rendering plant smells away from the course.
Staff is inconsiderate
Took my friend who is suffering from both Parkinson’s and bile duct cancer. I asked for a handicap exclusion from the cart path only rule and was told it wasn’t available. Two hours later I saw two of them on the course.
I called the course later for an explanation and they couldn’t give me one.
Never again will I play this course
Fun day golfing
We were paired with 2 gentlemen that knew the course well. Made playing fun. Will definitely play Foster again this season.
Reasonable condition during rain
I played when it rained. I rode the cart and the fairway was relatively better than I expected. The course was well maintained. I will definitely play again.
Very Happy
The round was perfect and so were the participants.
DId not know anyone but very nice people.
Extremely slow
Just advising people if you have not played course. I believe the average golfer there to be old and high handicap. Play is extremely slow. It is a short course and should be played rather quickly. Our round was over 5 hours.
Great deal
Great deal! Course was really wet. Muddy on several shots. Cart path only was a bummer. It was cold but it was fun. Golf now was awesome price, $12.00 with cart! Can't beat it.
Fun course to play in a pinch
The golf course is in good shape with all of the we have been getting. Greens are slow and fairways are soft but that is to be expected. We finished our round in four hours so the pace was good. Lots of walkers , but they played fast and it didn’t affect the pace. Just wish the restaraunt was open earlier than 11:00 on weekdays.
Good day
Fairways had some bald spots but still got some good bounce and roll. Green's where bumpy but didn't roll that bad. Their work early gets golfers today, we were a twosome and three groups lettuce playthrough. Not always the case as a lot of people have no golf etiquette. This is always been a good course to practice your irons only one par 5. With the little schmoozing they could make the long part 3 into a par 4 in another home to a par 5.
Still dry
Was quite surprised to only find a bit of standing water on #1. Often mud on the ball but good for this time of the year. There was a 5some 2 groups in front of me so played in a creative order, didn't hurry and finished in 2.5 hours with my best score of the year.
Nice option, but has always been busy.
I've heard it's one of the busiest courses around, and I can attest it probably is. Only played it twice in a year, but was always busy (weekday)....but steady pace. Figure close to 4.5 hours for 18. Nice layout, various holes, not boring back & forth flat golf. Very nice clubhouse. Will play it again.
Just ok
The rough is too long. Balls disappear in it that wouldn't at other courses. Too expensive for what it is. Play Riverbend or West Seattle instead.
Aceski,
At the time of your arrival, the golf course was under the Cart Path Only rule.
Later on in the day, we received notification that we could open it up to those in need. It was well after you were scheduled to play. We tried to explain that to you when you called.
Foster obviously wants to accommodate all of the golfers that come here. We would have loved to allow your partner the ability to drive on the course. There is no reason we would not want to help.
Hopefully, you will find a moment to return and play our facility.
