Poor course
Just poor maintained. The greens were terrible. Not worth the money. I know 9 hole course that charge 16$ that are better than this.
Disappointing
Considering the location the course is in fair shape... bunkers are terrible, greens on slow etc. These conditions would be TERRIBLE if the course wasn't on Mt Hood. What really sucked is no starter so after we finished Thistle we went to Fox Glove as instructed only to find 4 groups on the first tee. Everybody likes that nine so thats where they go even when told to play a different nine and there is no starter so we played Pine Cone because we didn't have all day to wait... All these issues is why we play there once every couple of years (we play 100 rounds a year) just because of the scenery.
Plugged and sanded this late
The course overall is beautiful in a beautiful setting. Super nice staff and Marshalls. The fairway is not mowed for some reason and running about 2". The greens have just now been plugged and sanded and are un-puttable. Just take a 2 putt max rule if you're going to play since there is so much sand and debris on the greens. Pace of play was painful. Our 18 took 5 hours. Would love to play again when the greens roll. It's a decent deal for the $50 hot price, but if I had paid the standard $85 at the pro shop, I would have been quite disappointed.
Really in the Rough
Played this course for years now, always a solid Hot Deal to be found, but the conditions of the course continue to deteriorate. Playing 18 holes (Thistle/Pinecone loop), more than half the tee boxes had clearly not been mowed recently. Almost all bunkers are littered with growing grass or weeds. A couple fairways on the Par 5’s especially had foot high weeds in them, begging the question when was it last mowed?! I love the course, but it’s in need of TLC if they’re going to keep charging some of the prices they do. This used to be a jewel tucked along the gateway to the Cascades, it’s sad to see how simple neglect has brought it down so far.
HORRIBLE CONDITIONS
My friends and I were looking for a last minute round and were excited to visit a familiar course. However, this course was not the same I remember visiting in years past. The greens were horrific and full of sand. The fairways had weeds that were 6 inches high. The bunkers were full of dirt and weeds. This place is a nightmare to play and we did not have a good time. We paid 50 dollars each and thought we were getting a good deal. I hope they get back to the course I remember someday. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone at this time. 6/19/24
Slow Pace
Pace of play much left to be desired. There was a six some in front of us which left three groups waiting on the tee box. Marshall let them play the remaining three holes in this fashion.
Beautiful mountain course
Had a wonderful day with friends playing the Mt. Hood resort course. Friendly staff and a beautiful day that featured views of Mt. Hood.
Slow greens
The greens and the pace of the play were very slow. I was with my wife, so we weren't exactly playing fast, and we were waiting as long as 5 minutes per shot. The marshall said something to the groups ahead of us and it sped up for about 2 holes. The sandtraps were in horrible condition, many had weeds growing in them. The course itself was fine, fairways were good, rough was in decent shape. It is a pretty golf course, and the staff was great.
Slow
Slow greens, slow play and the sandtraps are in horrible condition. The staff was very nice and the fairways and rough were fine.
