Traditional Classic Design
Course is in great shape. Played from the back tees. Tight shorter front nine fairways test tee ball striking abilities. Longer back nine layout requires shot making skills. Stay below the hole. Fast subtle breaking greens test putting abilities. I challenge the best golfers to break 70, but also fair to mid-handicap players. Good value for the price. Great restaurant with wonderful appetizers and meals. Very friendly and helpful staff.
front nine joke
The front is for seniors only no more than a hybrid off the tee for any of the front nine. The second hole goes up a hill the dog legs ninety degrees to the right. Then a bunch of weird routed holes that members get used to after playing it a bunch of times. They paired me with two members one guy can play but the other is a complete hack who spends half the round talking on his cell phone and complaining that people on golf now get a better deal than his guest friends. The back nine is actually a nice 9 holes and fun to play but the scorecard is so wrecked from the front nine already. This is definitely not the best course in the area unless you are a very short hitter.
th course is fun to play
The fairways do set up a challenge to golfers to hit in the right direction. Not all of them ,but some of them.
Character
Interesting course, quite a few short holes each with unique challenges.. Easy to walk with good pace of play..
Great course
Great course at a great value thanks Golf Now. I will definately play this course again.
HORRIBLE SERVICE!
This is a Private Country Club???
Really?
The course conditions were fair at best - closer to a "mowed cow pasture".
I was treated very poorly!!!
Horribly by one "manager".
Do not waste your money playing here.
2 of the Staff were friendly, one was poor in customer service, and one particular staff member needs to be in a different position where he doesn't deal with people. This is not Augusta, nor Riviera - it is at best a slightly below muni course that thinks it is something special - it is far from that.
Great Time
Great deal and fun course. We will go back. Thanks for the fun.
Fastest round ever
Very tight fairways. Course condition great. A few awkward holes but overall good day of golf.
Great course
excellent condition and value located in Washougal, WA
Great Course with Excellent Conditions
Played Orchard Hills for the 1st time on a vacation out to Portland, OR. Overall this course is in great shape, from the tee boxes, to fairways, to greens Orchard Hills is an impressive track. Their staff and pro shop is very accommodating and informative. We received a 5 min tutorial or tip session with the starter and he informed us of many tips on how to play the course. The set us up with a yardage book as well, a nice addition. Definitely worth a try!
Challenging course for walkers
I recommend the course, as greens and fairways were in excellent condition. Looks easy on line but is challenging. It is a long walk on the back 9 if you play 18. Front 9 is an easy walk.
I will play again, but take a cart on the back 9.
It was a hot, humid day.
Greens were fast, but just right.
WAY Over Rated! - Ballet Box Stuffing by Membership/Club Manager
Let's be clear, Orchards Hills is a fair to average course/facility at best. I first played Orchard Hills back in the early 60's when they had just 9 holes, so I've got some history here.
It's unfortunate this website doesn't provide basic guidelines for rating golf courses. A 4+ star rating should only be given to the very finest courses in a large geographical area.
Currently on the GolfAdviser, Orchard Hills CC is the #1 rated course in the Portland, Or/Vancouver, WA area. This is a monumental overrating travesty. Heck, it's not even the best course in the small area of Camas/Washougal, and there's only two courses there.
For the record, the BEST course in the Portland, Or - Vancouver, WA area is Royal Oaks Country Club (Vancouver, WA). This is truly a 4-star plus rated course and facility.
Elnjoyed playing the course again
Reception was friendly and we enjoyed our round. We would play there again.
Great course - Tests all shots in your bag
Front side short but requires ball placement. Back side more traditional length. This course will challenge all of your shots in your bag. From a 260 yd par 4 with a 90* dogleg, to an almost 600 yd par 5 on the back side. Greens were in excellent condition - about an 11 on the stimp. Everything breaks towards the Columbia River.
Great shape and great bargain
Played Orchard Hills and received top notch service from beginning to end. The course was in excellent condition and played fair. After we had a nice meal in their restaurant for a very good value. All in all a great place to spend the day...
great course
This course has great green locations and the fairways and greens are excellent. Had a wonderful experience
Two styles/great greens
Played this course on short notice and was pleased with the overall experience. The front nine is a tight older traditional style. The front nine plays short, I only used my driver a few times. The back nine is more of a grip it and rip it style. A much more open style an much longer with a few water hazards that are not on the front. I played when it was a light rain and yet the greens were great, and FAST! Definitely a great value and fun....I will pay here again.
this course has prestine greens
The greens at this course were F-A-S-T! I loved that. The course setup is a little tough to navigate. It took me about 5 minutes to find the tenth hole...it was across the street and about a block down then u had to go through a private street to get to it. The staff was exttemely friendly it did not have that stuffy country club feel. I know i mentioned the greens but i couldnt believe how fast they were its the middle of winter and it had been pourinf for a couple days. I dont know how they did it but all local courses should take note...cant wait to play there again.
Country right in the city
This is a beautiful golf course...a little difficult to follow the first time. Very challenging holes, even the par 3's. Overall, I had a great time, and plan to visit again.
Wonderfully maintained Course
This course is in great condition. What the course lacks in length it makes up for on the greens. I cannot wait to play there again!
Couldn't agree more...
