Good for the money
Course holds water and 2 holes could not be played due to water issues. For a weekend, this place is the least expensive around and that is the only reason to play here.
Decent setup, not the best maintained.
This course is okay once or twice a year as a change of pace if u get bored playing the same courses all the time. I play 100+ rounds per year. It's towards the bottom of my favs list. Pace of play was good today, we got out ahead of several groups. Playing time for 18 holes was 2.5-3hrs.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass along your feedback to the staff about pace, we love to hear the it was under 3 hours! We also look forward to passing along your review so they can work to make changes and move up on your list of favorite places to play. Thanks for visiting us!
Pace was too slow, course was too wet
It had rained quite a bit so the course was soaked which didn't help. (Other courses would have closed with this much standing water. The water was tolerable, the pace of play was not. There was no ranger or anyone monitoring the pace. We ended up driving around two slower groups and just skipping the holes instead of waiting 15 minutes on each tee box.
The course overall was nice and challenging. The only caveat that wasn’t really a problem was that most of the holes weren’t labeled.
Good greens
Had a shot gun start out in front of us
Two man best ball
A 6some really slowed things up
Front nine 2 and half hours
Back nine 1 45
Very long par 70 from tips
Big par 4s
Putting green was way faster than greens
Good sand in bunkers
Would play it again
Pace of play
Course was in great shape but 5 1/2 hours? Come on.
Water logged and distractions!
For the price, course playability was very poor! The course had to many fairways roped off due to course being saturated with water. Too many workers on the course clearing debre using noisy machinery. I'm not coming back and obviously won't be recommending your course to anyone.
Blackstone Creek
I enjoyed this course. I started off very well but ran into two decent par 5's on the front that took me off balance. Started off as a single., but the threesome ahead of me invited me to join them for the rest of the round. I will play this course again!
Well maintained
Very well maintained when I played with straightforward holes but some interesting tree placements and club decisions off the tee. Downside was a complete lack of organization so when I went to tee off as a single at my tee time, there were 3 groups waiting at the first box as well. There is also no driving range which is a negative to me. Overall, solid course at reasonable price
Nice Venue For The Dollar!!
Blackstone Creek is an absolute favorite! Reasonable rates, Friendly staff are the rule here! Like most other places fault of ball marks being left unrepaired is not the fault of a owner or course worker. They do a very nice job of keeping this place playable due to the river that can flood at times and leave debris. Traps require extra tlc because of this. Standing water is the norm after hard rain. This aside its probably one of the best places to get out during the week for a solid and challenging round of golf. Kudos for not giving up on the place and allowing MMSD to ruin. Thanks to Troy & Frank for not giving up!!!
Great value.
A bit wet thought it would be less wet had not rained in week. Fairways only with cart. Rest of experience great. Nice day bit windy. Construction could be heard on last few holes.
A solid muni-style course at a solid price
For under $20 or so, you can do a lot worse in Milwaukee than Blackstone. It's just a decent, average course. Nothing too hard about it. Nothing too bad about it. It's pretty narrow, but that's pretty standard for some courses in the area. I played in mid-September and it was in decent shape. It felt like the perfect place for a high school golf team to call home. At the price (I paid $15 on a Hot Deal), it's a good bargain.
Worth the Drive.
I drove two hours to play golf with a friend. Neither of us had played the course and didn't know what to expect. The course was well laid out - with the exception of the path from # 17 to 18. The course was very soggy from several days of rain but the greens were in reasonable condition and rolled true. Due to the standing water and mud we elected to play pick clean and play so other than getting wet feet the water didn't effect our play. The course had many doglegs which have either water or trees which requires control over your tee shots. There were numerous sand traps but mostly those were to the side of the greens so you could miss it short and not have to play in the sand. The course offers play it forward tee boxes which was appreciated since I am rehabbing from back surgery. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant made an excellent burger which fueled my 2 hour return trip. I will play this course again.
Needs some work
I understand this place is under new ownership. It's encouraging that they are trying to upgrade the current version. When we played you could see they were working on it. Conditions were a bit rugged but not horrible. I enjoyed the layout overall.
Great Round
Man! They are doing a great job here. I haven't played here for years because it was just OK.
NOW! its a very nice course!!!!
Very good condition!!!
A real nice staff, doing a great job!!
Hello, jadam530. Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the course is important to us. With the recent rain we are working to get everything up to par. We have projects ongoing to recover the fairways and greens from the water on the course. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Blackstone Creek Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
