Opened in 1929, Maplecrest Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Kenosha County. It is conveniently located a surprisingly short drive away from Chicago's northern suburbs. This challenging public course has long been a favorite amongst locals both for the playable design and the affordability. The golf course is relatively flat although there are a few subtle contours that can cause some tricky uneven lies. Watered fairways and fast greens protected by bunkers provide the bulk of the course's challenges though it is still quite forgiving if your shots are slightly errant. It is a course that beginners can approach with confidence but it still has plenty to offer for more advanced golfers. One good example is the difficult green on the sixth hole, which stands out as one of the toughest in the area.

This course needs to b taken care of. Grass needs cutting terribly. Sand traps need raking and sand in them. This course is not being taken care of!!
Best value
Great course if you can get a hott deal. Not a fan of paying full price based off the course condition and amenities. It is above average in terms of difficulty with some fun holes. Club house needs work and some of fairways and rough aren’t in the best condition. I really like the layout of the course.
Great value
Great course for the price. Holes are all different and plays long. Only thing I would like to see a starter on first tee. People just line up and do not fallow tee times. Would also like to see 10 min tee times. Not unusual to be 5 plus hours. Staff is always friendly.
Bad service by staff and owner.
The staff / owner made it obvious that they didn't wanted people like me to play at there course. Go in and to buy drinks at the true service was slow and the place was empty. The owner asked ask why we playing here. Well never play at maplecrest again.
Rude treatment from staff or owner
In my 22 years of playing golf. I’ve never played at a course where it was completely obvious that my kind wasn’t welcomed. Yes I said my kind. I literally brought 200$ of green fees and bar expenses to this course and neither of us 6 golfers felt we were welcomed there.
I’ll just leave it at that.
Will never return
Great drainage.
We had 5-8 inches of rain in the area on Sunday 9-11-22. I played here 2 days later and the course was quite playable with no issues concerning water.

Great golf challenge for the money. Fast pace yet time to enjoy the beauty of the course!

Average course, decent shape, and less expensive than most. There wasn’t many on the course when we played.
Nice course some hills
It’s a nice course with some hills and a little Walter . Many holes play long like 18 464 yard par 4. Greens and small but true it a good course for the money and the staff is very friendly a real family course

Nice course for the cost
Course in good condition. Temporary green on hole 8 due to some jerk(s) driving a cart on green.
