Opened in 1929, Maplecrest Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Kenosha County. It is conveniently located a surprisingly short drive away from Chicago's northern suburbs. This challenging public course has long been a favorite amongst locals both for the playable design and the affordability. The golf course is relatively flat although there are a few subtle contours that can cause some tricky uneven lies. Watered fairways and fast greens protected by bunkers provide the bulk of the course's challenges though it is still quite forgiving if your shots are slightly errant. It is a course that beginners can approach with confidence but it still has plenty to offer for more advanced golfers. One good example is the difficult green on the sixth hole, which stands out as one of the toughest in the area.

Good course needs mowing
The course is nice. Good layout but they need to mow. If you miss the fairway it’s going to take a while to find your ball.
Need to cut the fairways
The fairways need ro be cut. It was hard to find golf balls in the fairways which should never happen. The rough around the greens was also very long which isn't terrible but should be cut
Nice day for golf
Good to get out and play a round this time of year
Early yet…. High today was 60
Course not ready for steady play. 1 ports potty for 18 holes. Restrooms are not open yet. Ball and club washers need water. Course needed mowing badly. Deep
rough right off of green. Greens not in bad shape. Yet, it’s only April jn WI. Miss the fairways, it becomes a challenge to find your ball. Hit it straight!
Poorest conditions!
Sand traps were like shooting on top of clay. Hard to find balls with the uncut grass (even IN the fairways). Huge tree limbs all over the place. NOT A GROUNDS WORKER ON THE COURSE ANYWHERE! It seems like pending sales of the course has made this place just not care anymore and the filthy carts are an example of that. They want your money but THAT seems to be where their interest ends. The worst I’ve experienced at this course EVER!!! They just don’t care anymore.
Maplecrest Golf Course
Had some areas under repair yet not so long ago there was plenty of standing water. Nothing to truly interfere with play. And the only wait was off the 1st tee. Played 18 on a beautiful Wisconsin day! Upper 70’s/low 89’s.
Maple Crest Golf Course, Kenosha, WI
Who ever is maintaining this golf course needs to get their head out of the bottle. Many T's have no numbers, but old dirty rotten un-numbered hole posts. Many ball washers are empty of water and those that do have water have no drying towel. No machinery to vacuum up dead leaves that hide every golfers ball so they can never find it after hitting it. Bring at least 50 balls with you cause you're not going to be able to find most of them after hitting them, no matter the distance the ball traveled, leaves laying everywhere to hide your ball. If this course was managed by professionals this course would be transformed into a PGA rated course and business would boom.
Enjoyable Fall Golf
Great fall day. A little chilly but still doable. A lot of leaves but that's fall golf. The course was in good shape. The pace of play was fantastic!
Crap
I will never go back I came across a group of 6 people on a hole went to the clubhouse about it and was told there was nothing they could do about it
A very pleasant golf course to play. I live in Illinois, and don’t mind the drive to play there.
Got The Front 9 In
Course in good shape for fall weather that drastically changes every hour! Will be back to get the back 9 in!
