9 x 2 doesn't equal 18
Two of the three courses had outings on them, so we had to play the white course twice. It didn't say that on the website so since I already paid $5 for the tee time we went ahead and played; although I figured play would probably be slow, and it was.
Great Value for Money
Nice course layout. $25 for 18 holes with cart was excellent value for money. Foot prints remaining on some of the greens was annoying. Bunkers could use more sand.
Nice track
Course was in great shape from tee to green. I always enjoy playing at ives.
Great course
Ives is a links style course. It does have some trees but most are not in play. Well bunkered. Greens are some of the finest in wisconsin and always in great shape, fast and true. Fairways well kept. You will enjoy your round here
Ives Grove
Fairways and greens were terrific.Normal playing time and the concessions were great.
Wisconsin visit
Nice links style course. Fairly flat but still interesting. Very good course maintenance. Would definitely play there again. (I played the Blue-Red track.)
Very windy day
Course was in good condition. Greens were fast. Play was a little slow towards the end, but finished in less than 4.5 hours. We need people everywhere to repair their ball marks on the greens!
extreamly unfriendly
we were paired up with other couple , and force to play diffrent order than we booked,(booked red to white but they made us tee off from white even after we told them that's not the way we booked , even after they can clealry see red tee box completly empty, instead we had to wait on white tee for more than 5 minutes and it was EXTREamly slow.
Had no idea why they do that.....very rud responds when we tried to talk to them about it.
This course has great variety.
Played here 2 days in a row. Played red/white 1st day, white/blue on day 2. Made for a feel of 2 unique courses. Conditions on all of the nines were equally good. Only drawback was standing water in some bunkers. Despite recent heavy rains greens were in almost perfect condition. We were a 2-some. Singlle we were paired with was a great guy. Made for a perfect afternoon.
This is a very well maintained golf course.
Despite recent monsoons the course was in excellent shape with the exception of the bunkers. Those held alot of standing water and did not, obviously, drain as well as the rest of the course. Only possible drawback was that we went as a 2-some. One of the 2 singles we were paired with proved to wear on our mojo as the round went on. If not for that frustration it would have been quite the perfect afternoon.
Great Value, awesome greens
Played under threating skies. Not a lot of play but got stuck behind a foursome. We were a 2 some. Tee boxes, fairways we very good, short & full. The greens were very good and fast, perfect speed. Bunkers were very good with just the right amount of sand in them. Very impressed with the course condition, compliments to the greens keeper & staff. The fairway bunkers are very well positioned and offer a challenge from the blue tees. I will be going back.
Great course!
It is a great course to golf! Excellent conditions and the price was great for it all!
Ives Grove-Fathers Day
Course was very busy for Fathers Day. We played early, 6:00 am tee time and got done in less than 4 hours. Course was in good shape
Very Busy Local Course
Although there are 27 holes, this course was very busy with what looked like a lot of local players. Front nine, Red, was very slow (2 1/2 hrs+) as I was in line behind a group of 16 that went off ahead of me. I asked if other nines were more open and told that as not an option. Back nine, White, was wide open when I came around and I was able to play in just over an hour. Overall, just an OK course, although conditions were pretty good. It was a great deal on Golfnow, but will not likely make the 45 minute drive to play again.
Good Value
The course is in nice condition. It gets lots of play, but it is kept up well.
Ives groves
Haven't played Ives in a few yrs but am going back soon. Course was in great condition. Staff was curteous and very helpful. Missed the course.
Pace of play
Good course. Was a little annoyed when we had to consistently wait on the two groups in front of us. We actually just left at the 4hr mark on hole 12 cause we were tired of waiting. Great price for this course however.
Cow Pasture, but in Excellent Condition
I've played Ives Grove over the years dozens of times, but since I moved away from Racine almost 25 years ago, it's been a few years. The course was in tip-top condition. The fairways lush, the greens smooth, and the pace of play, even at 7:30am, perfect. The layout is nothing to write home about and all of the holes are kind of same-y, but it was a good time nonetheless. Ives Grove is the epitome of a cow pasture course, but I shot a 41/39 and regret the two three-putt bogies I had on the second nine (White to Blue)...
Ives Grove - 1 Oct 2013
Very strong winds made for a very challenging round!
Just a bit outside!
Of Racine on Highway 20 lies a surprising little 27 hole layout Ives Grove. I've exited off of I-94 at Hwy 20 many, many times but evidently never went West. Here you'll find a nice links style course with a good number of well placed bunkers that make your accuracy off the tees and on approach shots a necessity. The course played very quick, even with aeration on the blue and red courses yet the playing surface was very good. Numerous blind fairways offer a good challenge, and people falling from airplanes makes for some interesting backdrops. Play this course for a fun round of golf.
