Good Value
The course is in nice condition. It gets lots of play, but it is kept up well.
Ives groves
Haven't played Ives in a few yrs but am going back soon. Course was in great condition. Staff was curteous and very helpful. Missed the course.
Pace of play
Good course. Was a little annoyed when we had to consistently wait on the two groups in front of us. We actually just left at the 4hr mark on hole 12 cause we were tired of waiting. Great price for this course however.
Cow Pasture, but in Excellent Condition
I've played Ives Grove over the years dozens of times, but since I moved away from Racine almost 25 years ago, it's been a few years. The course was in tip-top condition. The fairways lush, the greens smooth, and the pace of play, even at 7:30am, perfect. The layout is nothing to write home about and all of the holes are kind of same-y, but it was a good time nonetheless. Ives Grove is the epitome of a cow pasture course, but I shot a 41/39 and regret the two three-putt bogies I had on the second nine (White to Blue)...
Ives Grove - 1 Oct 2013
Very strong winds made for a very challenging round!
Just a bit outside!
Of Racine on Highway 20 lies a surprising little 27 hole layout Ives Grove. I've exited off of I-94 at Hwy 20 many, many times but evidently never went West. Here you'll find a nice links style course with a good number of well placed bunkers that make your accuracy off the tees and on approach shots a necessity. The course played very quick, even with aeration on the blue and red courses yet the playing surface was very good. Numerous blind fairways offer a good challenge, and people falling from airplanes makes for some interesting backdrops. Play this course for a fun round of golf.
Pleasantly surprised
Was not expecting much, but Ives Grove exceeded expectations. Overall condtion was good, greens were very quick and in great shape. Course was a bigger challenge that I anticipated. Played almost 7000 yards. Enjoyed it and will be back. Got an amazing hotdeal on Golfnow.
the course itself was very fun to play.
I booked online with Golfnow to play red to white 18. When I arrived, we were changed to blue to red. There were 4 groups ahead of us on blue, thats when I asked the person at the counter why I was switched. He told me that something was funny in the system, no one should start their round on red or white. Funny thing was, a lady who walked to the pro shop with me in the morning started her round on red. So, I started my round 20min late with no one on either the white or red tee box. I dont appreciate being lied to, first off, and I dont understand why youd make a group of 2 start late just to prove a point. And for that, I will not golf at ives grove again.
Ives Grove GC
First time playing this course. No complaints. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Course in good shape. Moderately difficult as there are a good amount of blind spots off the Tees. The course also contains 110 bunkers so it's needless to say that t-shot placement is critical to score well.
Convenient place to golf
fairways were freshly cut with no clumping of cuttings, greens were cut short and the green play was fast and smooth. I really enjoy the round of golf at this small course everything was well maintained . Staff was very friendly.
Nice course.
Enjoyed playing this course. Well maintained. Greens very nice.
Ranger asked us to play a different back nine. Was very cordial and explained thoroughly the reason for the change. Will definitely play this course again. A great value for the money.
Great value and excellent greens
Easy access right off interstate and staff very friendly. Windy but adds challenge to several long par 3s.
Ives Grove
Excellent course and staff. Have played there many times on my trips to Wisconsin.
Great course
Always enjoy playing at Ives Grove golf course, it rained the night before......so the course was a little wet
Very nice, heat notwithstanding!
Despite very challenging weather, course was both maintained & managed very well. Greens & tee boxes particularly nice.
Great value.
The day was warm but not too humid. The course was fair but the rough could be long and punish you for a bad drive. First time playing the course and I would come back again. There were some very challenging holes and not so many trees that you could be aggressive with the driver.
I love this course
Course in great shape, pace of play was excellent
staff was friendly and helpful
Nice Track
Its a public play course that puts a lot of rounds on, but with three nines you usually can get on. You can walk the course easily, fairly flat. Course changes significantly on days that are rainy, hard to be out of bounds on the course.
A Fun Course
Having 3 different nines, the white and blue both have a fair amount of water in play. The red nine is much more links-ish. All 3 of them are good for the person who doesn't necessarily hit it straight, as there are very few trees really in play. From the blue tees this course can play pretty long and tough, but from further up it's very doable for virtually any golfer. It's nearly impossible to find calm winds, but there's plenty of room for error on most holes, so that's not a huge problem. I'm happy to call this my home course!
There are sometimes condition issues, and it's often times pretty swamped with slow golfers - otherwise I'd give it 5/5.
Fair amount of hazards
With its many bunkers , green side and fairway, you have to be aware of shot placement. Wide open concept with open fairways and very few trees to navigate the bunkers and water make this a unique play. The greens are large and arriving there in regulation does'nt gaurantee low scoring. Good overall course, however i wouldn' reccomend playing on windy days.
