Great time
Had a great time it was a beautiful day the greens were in great shape Love the slope on the greens made you think. Hope to play again soon
nice course, great experience
Two nines, different characters. One open, one wooded. Fairways/greens in good shape. Last played in late 1970's when course just opened. Glad to see has been kept as it matured.
Liked Timber Creek
Course was well maintained,; only problem was lack of rakes in some bunkers and missing 150 yd. markers that makes a guessing game for those with- out electronic aids. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Beautiful course
Beautiful course Just out of Spanish Fort not far from Foley. This course is worth the drive
Nice challenge
Great condition and fair layout. Was a pleasant surprise.
Course fairway narrow,very challenge
Course very challenge. fairway narrow, tough green, it make come back play again
Wasted potential
I'm just going to list a few facts to allow the golfnow users imagination's paint their own picture.
1. The heat index was close to 100
2. The humdidity level was infinite
3. THERE WERE NO WATER COOLERS ON THE GOLF COURSE AND THE CART GIRL HIT US ON ONE AND TEN.
4. The course was wet, even though there really wasn't that much rain the last several days.
5. The green had not been mown in at least 3 or 4 days (Unless Forrest Gump trimmed them with his snapper.)
6. There was no starter and the pro shop didn't tell us which courses to play.
7. The bunkers looked like canyons and they were basically hard pan because all the sand had washed out of them or they were mini ponds.
I don't know if they have a terrible drainage issue or they just can't figure out how to turn off the sprinklers. The drainage seems unlikely considering the amount of elevation shanges.
This used to be a nice course but the present management is a joke. There is no excuse for the course to be in the shape it is. I've never loved the layout but I've at least admired the condition it was in before. Not this time.... I've seen a steady downward trend the last several times that I've played so this comes as no surpise. I may try it again in a decade or so.
P.s. I gave it two stars because I couldn't do 1.5. I was always taught to round up. The golf cart we had would absolutely fly. That's the most redeemable quality the golf course possessed.
Staff was very helpful
The course was in good condition the staff were very helpful I can't wait to play this course again
Friendly Player Course
Played this course several times. Always seems to be well maintained. Good driving range, putting/chipping greens, and bunker practice. Staff and employees pleasant and helpful. Several tee positions for the skill of play. Will not hesitate to "tee it up" there again.
Longest day of my life
Do yourself a favor and try to find another place to play unless you are happy about playing behind several groups of five somes! It was terrible! Nice course but 2 1/2 hours to play 9 holes.....we quit and left...when I spoke to the Course Ranger he explained to me that I should have asked if there were any 5 somes on the course and that this is normal for them. There were 3 in a row with the apology of I'm sorry there's 2 other 5 somes ahead of us!. The staff was less than helpful. I was not treated very well with my Golf now reservation. My wife and I play twice a week and live a mile away. We will never return.....,
Never Disappoints
The consistency of this course is strong!! The staff is probably the best in the area. The regular price of play sits right, but if you catch a special... it really makes the value of this course phenomenal. Driving range is right at the club house, so it's easy to get a quick warm up.
The mixture of holes is fantastic. There are some challenging spots, but a novice would have a good time here. For those that play all the time, the 27 hole layout can make every trip a tad different as you get to play a different mixture of 18.
Course conditions are best in area!
About 45 min delay with tournament on course, but once on smooth sailing, played pines/dogwood. Highly recommended
The course is in great shape. I can't wait to get back out there again. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The restaurant in the clubhouse always has great food. Its an overall great experience.
Must have had a bad winter...
We were scheduled to play Dogwood, but instead were started on Pines behind a five some who wouldn't let anyone play through. The course is in terrible shape-very little grass, lots of hard-pan and greens were dry and still had holes from aeration.
There was trash and cigarette butts all over the course. The staff behind the counter wasn't welcoming and he gave us few directions about where to go, etc.
We got a discount from one of the tee time websites, but I wouldn't have played there for free had I seen the course ahead of time.
The cart paths had huge, uneven spots where the cement had heaved and all the terrain was rough.
I won't return.
A playable option near Alabama's Gulf Coast
I've played TimberCreek a couple of times over the years. It's been a few years since I've been there, but I still remember it being quite enjoyable. The Magnolia nine, at 3,612 yards, is the longest, and arguably the toughest. It has the most hazards and wetlands. Its unpredictable terrain hands out some tough lies, too.
The Pines nine is flatter than the Dogwood nine, but probably has more personality, with plenty of doglegs and interesting par-5s.
