Nice folks
Nice people. Course in poor shape and needs work.
Great shape
The course is in great shape. A couple of spots on a couple of greens, minor issues considering the time of year. Staff was friendly and helpful.
perplexed
Use to play this course on the way to Florida every spring. Haven't played in about 10 years. Core of course is pretty good but it doesn't seem to be be kept up anymore. Rough around the edges, cart paths are in horrible shape. My recall of the way it used to be was a really nice course. I don't think you can blame this on Covid 19.
Could be Better
First of all let me say I love this place even with all its faults. Staff is friendly. The practice area is just ok. Tee boxes need work and fairways ok. Love the rolling greens.Seems like every hole was different and challenging but fair. The basic design of this course I think beautiful. I would love to have seen it on opening day. Unfortunately conditions right now could not be what the architect envisioned. I know there was hurricane damage but since then I don't see maintenance crews actively working on necessary repairs. There are limbs and branches dangerously hanging over cart paths and even worse are the cart paths themselves.. Concrete is missing or bulging out just waiting for someone to drive over damaging a cart or worse having a driver thrown from a cart. And speaking of carts....be sure to get a cart that runs properly and breaks are functional. The carts here have problems and are fairly beat up and patched up. In some cases with duct tape..The word around town is that money is tight and the owners don't care...Sad..
Friendly and Knowledgeable Staff...Poor Course Condition
The ladies working the front desk and the pro shop were very friendly and helpful. There was also cart service on the course. Everything as far as concessions were reasonably priced. The course condition was terrible. Brown, shaggy fairways, rock hard sand. Greens were OK. $60 price tag is unreasonable. More like a $35 course. Still has a good time. Golf is better than sitting at home. Could be a good course with some care.
Fun course. Worth the drive from Gulf Shores
Course was challenging but fun. Enjoyed layout. Unexpected elevation changes for a course in this area. Played the Magnolia/Dogwood rotation. Cart paths could certainly use some repairs. Very rough in spots. Course itself tee beds, fairways, and greens were in good shape.
Many of the fairways are ridiculously unforgiving. If you can't hit laser beam tee shots straight down the fairway, this isn't the course for you. Even the roughs are whipped cream. You can be a foot off the fairway and never find your ball. Or you're in deep trouble just for barely missing the fairway. That's just not very fun for even above average golfers. And too many blind shots. My goodness. I had to drive up to the green on a par 3 just to find the flag hiding behind a small hill.
Good play for the money
Overall great course. Wish there were yard markets, but greens were decent and the restaurant was good for the price.
Too crowded.
Pace of play too slow. Too many single golfers. Golfer without cart.
Cork
We love playing at Timber Creek. It is well kept and the staff are very friendly. They have great sandwiches and burgers in the clubhouse too. It is well work the money.
