The Madison Club

About
The Madison Club is a local favorite that is known for its top conditions and challenging layout. It is one of the premier public golf courses in Pittsburgh. You won't find two holes that are alike on this diverse course. It can be especially tough your first time playing since there are several blind shots. The golf course tumbles across rolling, wooded hills, which makes it a hard course to walk but a beautiful one to look at. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, rough, and a variety of elevation changes. The elevated tees offer some scenic respite from the golf course's many challenges. One of The Madison Club's most memorable holes is the par-3 17th, which begins with a forced carry over water. It is considered one of the best public holes in western Pennsylvania.

Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Pennsylvania (2019 #16)
Reviews
Too many blind shots.
Course starts with #1 handicap hole. If you struggle out of the gate, it can really set a bad tone. Course is very wide open and nondescript. Difficult to find a tree or something to Gage distance of tee shot if you're in the rough ( or worse ).
Had a few scenic holes, but I won't rush out to play it again.
Nice layout and maintenance
Nice course, friendly staff. Pace was slow due to frost delay but otherwise good experience.
Very nice condition.
A couple of the sand traps had water and needed drained and new sand. A reminder also when traveling thru Madison be sure to go the 25 mph speed limit as they have police hiding up alleys. Your round will cost a lot more if they catch you!
Course was in excellant condition.
Course was in excellant condition and was a great bargain for $18.00 per person.
A great and challenging course.
The Madison Club was a challenging course, yet it was playable. The staff was really friendly, and competent. There was a perfect combination of dog legs and slopes.Over all I thought that the course was well maintained with super friendly staff to compliment.
My favorite course in the area.
I've played every public course in the area (with exception of Totteridge) and this is by far the best. Quality wise it compares to Spring Church and is almost (if not just) as nice as Birdsfoot. For the price (on GolfNow) it is cheaper than the goat pastures known as Irwin CC and Valley Green and is far superior to Cherry Creek.
It has some of the best par 3's in all of western PA as well. Tee boxes are in good shape (with exception of one or two holes). Greens and fairways are very well maintained, and the rough, well it is fantastic.
I highly recomend this place to anyone!
Great Course
This course is in great shape, great greens. There are many blind shots on the course so the first time you play explore a little or go with someone who has played it before
Another nice afternoon of golf at the Madison Club!
Our starting time was moved back ~20 min due to an earlier delay. Other than that, it was a great day of golf on a nice course at a reasonable price. No complaints.
Fun course to play
Good variety of hole and the par 3's are very unique Would recommend this course to all that enjoy a challenge
better than the average public courses in this area.
The greens have improved somewhat this year and showed less evidence of "disease" that was there for the last few years.
As a senior of 79, I appreciated the placement of the senior tees
which made my game more enjoyable. I liked the layout and plan to play several more times this season.
