Green
For a course that received minimal rain in the last 4 months it was lush and green. All the holes are challenging. Many are have uphill or downhill shots into the greens.
Nice as always
Played here for the first time in a few months and as always it was immaculately kept for a public course. Greens and fairways had all just been mowed and the tee boxes were in better condition than all of the other public courses I've been playing recently.
Another good round
Course is in great shape considering the drought
Short but always a preasure and a challenge
Setup
I received a call asking to push my tee time back 2 hours due to “Frost on the Course”. I agreed and came to the course and there was an outing going on with a log jam at the first tee. The staff was very friendly about it but I only was able to get 12 holes in before it got too dark to play. My playing partners said they were aware there was no frost on the course to cause the delay and they were scrambling due to the outing taking place. If I had known I would have asked for a raincheck or a refund. I paid for a full round but did not get my full round. Disappointing.
Do not recommend
Pace of play was very slow. The course is really tight, greens and tee boxes are too close together which is dangerous given the level of golfer playing here (myself included). There were people and balls all over the place.
So SLOW
I really wish they had a ranger here, this is an avg at best course, but with the slow pace of play, it makes it almost unbearable. The only reason i come play is that it’s somewhat close to my home. Wish they had a ranger that made groups pick up the pace
Great course
I can’t express my attitude why I like this course. It’s not long but the layout challenges you if you miss the fairway. The rough is a little deeper in some locations but you can get out. Your advancement won’t be great but you will have forward motion.
Pace of play was better than average. Afterwards we had a snack at their outdoor cafe. Since it was Monday, the restaurant was closed.
I want to get back here a couple more times before winter.
Home Course
5 minutes from my house you'd think I would play here more frequently, but it's always a good time. The grounds crew had the course in great shape considering the drought conditions throughout the summer. The place is well run, the staff is friendly and the greens fees are reasonable for the quality of the course. One thing that I would like to see happen is a trash cleanup in the woods around hole 11. It always amazes me that people throw beer cans and trash from their carts because "nobody's looking". I guess there's nothing quite like enjoying some time in the outdoors, then trashing it because your too lazy, stupid or entitled to put your cans in the bins that are all over the course. Please be considerate of pthers.
Monday at Skippack
I really like this course. The drawbacks are drainage and a couple of quirky hole layouts. I like Monday play except the restaurant is closed. They do have refreshments and burgers/hotdogs but wanted something else.
Any other day of the week would be awesome.
The greens were in great shape considering they were “recently” aerated them. They’ve healed to about 90% so a better roll but not exact.
I wish I lived closer to this one.
Good value, fun track
Really nice course for a relaxed round. Tee boxes weren’t in great shape and the holes are right on top of each other so it’s kind of tight for 18 holes.
But the course is otherwise pretty forgiving and scorable especially if you can hit the fairways.
