The Club at Shannondell
About
The Club at Shannondell, formerly known as George Washington Golf Course, has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of the "25 Best Golf Courses in Pennsylvania" and it's also on their list of "Best Places to Play." From the back tees, the course is just over 6,100 yards. Put away your driver because there won't be many chances to grip it and rip it on this course. It's a seemingly mild layout with wide, gently rolling fairways that appear forgiving, but the strategically placed hazards along the pitched greens demand well placed shots. The cut of the rough is also higher and there are several doglegs, placing even further emphasis on accuracy. Proper club selection is also very important on this golf course. The Club at Shannondell is a fun but fair test for players of all skill levels.

Good value
Cool layout and in nice shape. Only complaint would be slow play. No ranger to get slower groups moving. Some of the holes overlapping creates backups
Thought i was having a nightmare
Had a 9:30 tee off and while we were getting set up I noticed there were 4 women ahead of us teeing off at first tee. Not just ordinary women they all had to be over 80...no lie they would hit there ball like 30 yards get back in the cart drive 30 yards get back out and hit it another, so on and so on. We were told they were only playing 9 so after the 8th hole and 3 hours later they finished thank god...it was a golfing nightmare. We finished the next 10 holes in 2 hours..it was wide open. Really not the courses fault they did try to move them along. Thankfully it was a nice day and I had my phone to keep me occupied. I have been playing golf for over 45 years and had never seen anything like that before and hopefully never again.
Fun Course for the Value
Found on Golf Now. Great layout. Open course with out a lot of hazards. Pace of play was greatl I'd go back.
Hungry and thirsty.
Had a great day only to find out that the bar/restaurant are closed on Mondays! Ate and drank elsewhere. Would have topped off a great day. Maybe next time.
77 degree day in March
Wow, playing in March on a weekday afternoon. 77 degrees and sunny. Course is in great shape considering the early time of year. They cleared out all the brush and waste areas. Gave the course a different look. It would be nice if the kept it that way all summer. 2 Thumbs up. If we get another nice day I'll be back.
