Playing Wedgewood is always a good day!
I played four different area courses this week, including the TPC at Southwind, and Wedgewood had the best conditions by far. Fast, true greens, well kept fairways and tees and a friendly staff help make it enjoyable. The risk/reward balance of Wedgewood makes it fun but can be frustrating if you don't bring your A (or at least your B) game.
Fun course to play
I made a tee tme at 6:30 AM for 7:52 AM and arrived at 7:30 and got right out.
Course was in great shape and I will be playing this course again in the future.
Extremely Slow
I try and play all the local courses each season, with Wedgewood being the last knowing what to expect.....extremely slow play. Always tell myself I won't go back but playing in a church function in a few weeks and wanted to get reacquainted. Well I paid for 18 an ended up playing only 9 holes. Just extrmely too slow pace, joined another group and we still waited every single shot for several minutes. Sad because it is a decent course.

Challenging Course in great shape
Drove up from Oxford to play the course. Well worth the hour drive. The greens and fairways were in great shape. Good mix of water, trees, and bunkers. Challenging layout that requires lots of laying up. If you don't hit it straight this course won't be very fun for you.

This is a challenging course with a blend of holes.
This is good course. The white tees are about 6,000 yards and blues are about 6,300 yards. What you see, is what you get. Bring your A or B game with you and you will be fine. Anything less than that, just have fun and fellowship with your playing group. Fast greens and fairways.

Out of town trip
Golf course was a very fun and challenging course, greens where in good shape. I am very particular about the golf courses I play, this course met a lot of my needs for a good round of golf. Great tee boxes, fairways were in very good shape, the greens were undulating and manicured. Most of all the course layout was fantastic!
Next time I visit Memphis, I will definitely play this course again! 2 thumbs up!!

Great course!
Wedgewood and North Creek are sister courses in Desoto County MS. They are known for their well maintained fairways and fast undulating greens.
Wedgewood is more difficult (comparing white tees - white tees) than North Creek for bogey golfers as you have more narrow fairways and some trouble that requires good shot placement and some thought into club selection - driver is not always the right tee club here.
I love to play both courses as the staff is friendly and the pace of play during the week and after noon on Saturdays is usually very good.
Wedgewood is a challenging course especially from the blues or the tips but not so difficult that a casual player can't have a good time.
The greens were recently aerated and sanded when I played on July 28 2016. They are starting to smooth out, but are still somewhat sandy and slow - not unplayable, but not their usual fast and true. Wedgewood is good about posting maintenance alerts on GolfNow. The greens at Wedgewood are known for their speed and with the rains we had over the weekend, they should be back to crazy fast in the next week.

A fantastic course
Absolutely great service from start to finish. All staff members were very friendly and helpful. The course was in great shape with really fast greens and they were consistent on all of the holes. We played the blues which offers some realistic eagle opportunities on some of the par 5s but don't go above the pin or the greens will make you pay for it. Just enough slope coupled with the speed of greens keep it challenging. Will play again if I'm in the area.

Windy Sunday afternoon at Wedgewood
It's worth the short drive from Memphis! Wedgewood's 18 holes are located in a nice neighborhood area. Plenty of water hazards come into play, so accurate shots are important, especially with the wind blowing so strong this fall. Fairways and greens are well maintained.
I'd come back if I am in the area.

Slow play
Play was extremely slow. At times I had to wait 15-20 minutes between shots. I didn't even play the back 9 because there were three groups of 5 players ahead of me.
