About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Bad shape.
Course is in REALITY BAD shape. Hugh cracks on the fairways. Hit a ball right down the middle and can’t find it because ball is in foot deep cracks. Cart paths are also in really bad shape you have to be careful otherwise golf cart will get stuck on holes on cart paths.

They hae not taken care of this course fairway completely dryed out and look like crates in the dessert. looks like no water all summer and many water leaks so wet here and no where else they should shut down the course.

Worst Ever
I have played this course many times over the past 10+years and I have never seen it in this poor a condition. There are severe cracks in the fairways throughout the entire golf course. I found a golf ball that someone had lost, it was in a crack, "in the middle of the friggin fairway!!!" I realize that we have been experiencing some pretty hot weather over the past few months, but this is ridiculous. They could do better.

AWFUL
Never played a course in worse condition. Tee time was $60, absolute disgrace!

Overpriced & Dangerous
I played as a single, 7:30 am tee time on a Sunday. I don’t like riding in carts with people I don’t know, so I understand that doing this requires a fee at many courses as a way to ensure they don’t run out of carts. That being said, when adding the $60 green fee + $25 dollar fee to ride alone + taxes, that becomes a $100 round of golf. I don’t mind paying this amount if the course is well kept, but this course was in awful shape, with bumpy, cracked fairways, uneven tee boxes, and cart paths that were in dire need of maintenance. To top it all off, even though we’re in the midst of Dallas’s hottest month ever, Riverchase has decided against having water jugs on the course, meaning your only chances to get water come before the round and at the turn. This would be defensible if multiple beverage carts were circulating the course, but I didn’t see the cart until I was about to tee off on hole 16. Lastly, the course restaurant doesn’t open until 10, so it was still closed when I made the turn. Due to the aforementioned heat, I had worked up quite an appetite by the end of the front 9, so this was quite disappointing.
Overall, this is a $25 course masquerading as a $60 course. If I’d payed $25-$30, I could’ve overlooked the issues, but given that I payed $100, I felt ripped off.

Massive cracks in the fairway
Biggest complaint is they must have an issue with irrigation. They clearly are not watering, and on some holes, you would hit the middle of the fairway and not find your ball as it is swallowed up I. Some of the massive cracks. One time I found my ball and had to stick my arm in up to my elbow to retrieve it. The cart paths are also in serious need of repair.

Texas summer
Play golf in the Texas heat is never fun but it’s even worse when they have zero water throughout the course for you to drink from.

Terrible condition
Terrible maintenance there. Giant cracks all over the course. Along with sunken in sprinkler lines so if you’re driving down the middle of the fairway, you’re bouncing all over and your clubs are rattling. There is no car path that alone is a mess, There are cracks everywhere, huge drop offs an ledges. Overall terrible course.

Conditions have seen better days
Just shut the course down and for a couple years and remodel. Fairways are dead with HUGE cracks in the middle as if there was an earthquake. Cart path looks like it’s been in an earthquake. Greens are decent. Bar staff could use some customer service training.

Not Worth It
Tee times are too crowded, doesn’t seen like they take care of the course, bunkers are overgrown with weeds, teeboxes are in horrible shape and are closer to bunkers with how much sand is in them.

Will likely not return
The course was in awful shape. Not even worth the $11 I paid. The greens are horrible and some of the tee boxes are so hard I broke tees trying to get them in the ground. They also didn't have any drinking water on the course or a beverage cart. Last time I played was 8 years ago and has gone way downhill since then.

Great track but poorly maintained.
This was tough to enjoy. It had been 10+ years since I had played here. I love the layout but the course is horribly maintained. The cart paths are virtually undriveable. The fairways and practically the same. You couldn’t persuade me to play it again, even if it was free. And that’s a shame.
