About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Pace of play is the biggest drawback as it’s a nice course. Tee boxes were in bad shape & there wasn’t any beverage carts circulating on the course.

Great course!
The course was great, they’re recovering from winter greatly and it was a great challenge

Cart Path and Food
I like playing Riverchase and play there often. It would be nice if the cart path was fixed as there are some very shaky spots - mostly the front 9. The bridge to hole 14 is a little scary also.
In addition, if I can make a suggestion... It would be great if the restaurant had better bread (hoagie) for the sandwiches and some more snack type things for the drink cart (pretzels, beef jerky, peanut M&M's, kind bars, apples, oranges...)

Cause of slow play
I completely understand getting the maximum number of players on the course. We had foursome and we do not play slow even when it’s cart path only. But there were no Marshall’s on the course to pair twosome together or pair a couple of singles. It made for a frustrating day allowing singles and twosomes through even if it was the right thing to do. But a Marshall could have handled the situation instead of us dealing with it.

Crap
First off I booked a round for me and me only. I didn’t book a round to play with three other people I didn’t know for 5 hours when it would have just taken me two. When I talked to the staff they just blew me off. Second thing if you say you have a driving rang you might want to make sure you can hit driver on it. And 3rd for $33 I have played a lot better courses for this price. This was not a hot deal it was a ripoff.

course was a little wet but drained as well as it could. greens were in great shape. it was cart path only. one of our guys in our group took his cart off the path and was reprimanded pretty harshly by the Marshall. overall great value and course layout.

Rained out after 9 holes
I was told rain checks fir other 9 holes would be through you. Who do I cal or how do I go about getting the refund process going?
We are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced at the course. As far as the raincheck goes, sounds like you prepaid for a Hot Deal on GolfNow. When this is the case, no money is paid to the pro-shop so there is no money that is owed back from the course. You may have booked other course times through GolfNow and that is why you were able to obtain a raincheck. If you call GolfNow, they would be happy to rectify the situation. We hope this clears any confusion up and we hope you give us another try in the future.
Bad conditions
Course was in horrible shape. T boxes were dirt. 1 foot deep ruts in every fairway..

2X in a Week
Played this course two times in a week. Even after an overnight torrential downpour the night before,, the course played well.
Even on a high wind warning day, really enjoyed playing this course. If you haven’t been, get there! Riverchase is well worth the money!
