About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Don’t go, too slow
It’s ridiculous that people can’t keep a 4 hour pace on a Saturday afternoon on a course like this. Every hole is right out in front of you, the fact that people can’t keep up is puzzling. As we made the turn on 10 I watched a 4 some average 2.5 tee shots on hole 18. That should never be allowed.

Fairways dry rock hard. Forget a divot. Green dry and slick or soaked.

Great Layout!
I booked for $25.00 on Golfnow and received every penny worth! This course allows you to use every club in your bag. If you like using your driver this course allows you to hit them home with a few holes challenging accuracy. I was impressed with the bunker locations as this added some difficulty to the course. The sand was not in the greatest condition but it’s also winter. The greens were extremely fast and I couldn’t get a putt to break all day; however, the greens were in good shape and I enjoyed the short fringe which allowed me to take long putts from off the green! Struggled finding yardage markers on front 9 but seemed to find them just fine on the back; Might have taken me a bit to get used to the course. Overall you won’t be disappointed playing this course for under <$40.00

Course could be much better
I couldn’t enjoy playing. Someone booked 3 people and showed up with 4. It was a hot deal and I suppose to be the 4th. To make a long story short.... I played by myself with the group of 4 ahead of me. Every time after I hit my shot, I had to wait 5-10 mins until my next shot. Didn’t enjoy my golf day at all. Couldn’t even skip holes. There were groups up ahead. Wasted my day off just to sit and wait. One thing was good though... The Beers.

Decent value for the money
Got a pretty good $30 18 hole rate from golf pass, but would not have been happy if I'd paid more than that. Pace was fairly slow - 2h15 on a late Monday morning. Greens were in decent shape but the fairways were in pretty poor condition.

Rude People on the Course
This course needs a marshall or at least a starter. First, the course conditions were average at best, especially on the back nine. Tee boxes were uneven and very torn up on most holes. Obvious that the course has been pretty wet. But, that wasn't the biggest issue. Tee time was scheduled for 1:50. Showed up after being on the range, knowing I was going to walk the course. Also, had signed up as a single expecting to play with a least a threesome., and was shocked to see what were obviously two or more foursomes waiting to play. The first foursome was teeing off and although late, had finished by their allotted time. Not very talented, so knew it was going to be slow. The next foursome then stepped up ready to hit from the teebox. I asked them what their tee time was. WITHOUT ANY EXCUSE OR APOLOGY, THEY INDICATED THAT THEIR TIME WAS 1:21. They were a half hour late. Another person called them on it, and we merely got a shoulder shrug. They then proceeded to play at a less than ideal pace throughout the round. A two some who joined us skipped from #8 to #10 just to get past both groups. Inexcusable that no one was there to enforce this foursome not waiting until there was an opening before they jumped in. May prevent me from playing the course again.
