The Olympic at Gold Mountain Golf Course

About
Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington offers two championship courses, the Olympic and Cascade, both of which are known as two of the best public courses in the greater Seattle area. The Olympic Course is the more challenging of the two with more hills and water hazards. Dramatically sculpted from the thick Pacific Northwest forest, the driving corridors are surprisingly generous. Towering evergreens line the fairways and there are significant elevation changes throughout, making it a complete workout to walk the course. The layout's most challenging element is the undulating greens, which are often guarded by bunkers and mounding. The final four holes are the most memorable featuring a combination of water, trees, and stunning views. The final hole on the Olympic Course is a drivable par 4 that is the perfect finish to your round.

New Home Course
My wife and I moved to Gig Harbor, WA and everyone said I needed to play the Gold Mountain Olympic course. Well, as of Thursday I've now played the course 5 times and I have to say, I love this course!
I'm a scratch player and have pushed back to the gold tees for my past 3 rounds and have shot 74, 79, 75 with the middle round being played in the driving rain and wind. If the first hole has a white flag be prepared because it means most of the toughest holes will have blue flags and you're in for a real test!
The fairways are great and the greens have recently been punched but they're coming back quick and putt really well.
As a former So Cal player my only criticism of this and many other PNW course's is that they do not keep divot repair mix on the carts. My ball found 7 fairway divots on Thursday which is odd I know but if these had been filled by the player who made them not only would the divots come back quicker, but balls hit low and hot would more than likely roll past them.
Other than that it's a great track and the staff is really cool. Want a true test? Get out there and give it a try.
Course with views;seclusion
After playing in mud this spring;this course was in unbelievable shape. It played like summer conditions;can't wait to return!
Great Course
This is one a my new favorite courses to play in the PNW. Breathtaking views and great course conditions!!
Fun Terrain
The course as a whole was in good shape. The fair ways were nice. The terrain of the course was really enjoyable. The greens were on the slow side. Could be from the aeration that was done a little over a week before I played. Over all will play this course several more times this year.
funfortunately day
Great staff beautiful course wonderful day you'll really enjoy the fairways
nice layout - fun track
I like the layout and interesting holes. Greens were very slow - it was very wet he day before, and likely not cut contributing to the slow greens. I am in very good physical shape and like to walk. The Olympic is very hilly and is definitely a full workout to walk. Enjoyed the course very much. Look forward to coming back in the summer.
Had a great time..
Overall course condition is great.. however, few hole fairway has soak (due to lots rain lately) specially hole #17 we couldn't find ball due to bury in fairway...
Dries well
For all the rain we've had lately, it was shocking.
Worth the drive
Fun to play and always in perfect condition this is one of my favorites in western WA.
great winter course in puget sound
this is my home course but I have to write a review about how great this course truly is in particular playing winter (rainy season) golf. This course has always been one of if not the best winter course in the Puget Sound area. But to my delight they have even progressed further in making the course nearly dry like in the rainy season. We have had 2-3 weeks of rainy weather but after only 1 to 2 days of non rainy weather ( not sunny but cloudy with showers) the course fairways and greens were playing great. I thanked the front desk person and found out they have a new puncher that allows for even better drainage of the course. I f you dont like slogging around in the mud and looking for plugged balls in the middle of the fairway go to Gold Mountain for a great winter golf experience.
Another great round on Olympic
Staff was warm & welcoming. Weather was great. Pace was good. Paired us up with new friends. Course was very well maintained.
Beautiful Course
What a great course in the Pacific Northwest. For October, tremendous shape, true greens. No two holes alike, challenging and a must stop anytime in Seattle area.
Splendid round as usual at this course
This course is a gem that has never disappointed.
Well worth the drive to the penninsula.
Worth the flight from Chicago
Well worth the flight from Chicago, this course is one that must be played while in town.
Excellent condition for fall
The olympic course was in amazing shape. the greens had been punched recently and were a little sandy but rolled smooth and were soft enough to hold approach shots. overall a great day!
Awesome Layout...
Course layout was spectacular. Hilly and fair for a first time play. Course had been aireated for the fall, otherwise a spectacularly conditioned course.
Good bang for the buck
Course was in great condition as usual. Greens have to be some of the nicest and truest rolling greens I have played on. Pace of play was horrible. We were in a four playing moderately paced. There was a group of four in front of us that we waited on the tee box and in the fairway for on every hole. Some waits were 5 minutes or longer. Not sure what was taking them so long. Otherwise no complaints. Not a fan of holes 17 and 18. Not very representative of the rest of the course.
New fav
Played a few courses over this summer using golfnow and when this course popped up, I took advantage. Glad I did, what a fun course to play. It's in excellent condition, would recommend cart, although I saw a few walking the course. After round dinner and drink was top notch too.
Olympic Course is a must play
The Olympic course at Gold Mountain continues to be one of my favorite in Washington state. The layout is tough but there are nearly always good options if you use course management. The golf now price was great and I really enjoyed my round.
Tough but fair course!!!
Olympic is a must play course. Course was in excellent condition. Barely any dry spots in the fairways, greens were in great shape as well, fast but rolled true. Course is hilly, so prepare yourself if walking. Back 9 plays tougher than front with 16/17/18 are great closing holes. Staff was extremely friendly. Pace of play was great, only waited on last few holes. Definitely worth the drive from Seattle.
