Nice course, but struggling to maintain the tees and light rough
We played on a Monday afternoon after the course was closed for maintenance in the morning. We had a 13:20 tee time but were invited to tee off early at 13:00 as a 2 ball. It is clearly a well designed course with some great holes, particularly the par three 6th hole. The green fee of €100 for two including buggy is clearly much more affordable than most courses of this standard but this may result in there being insufficient funds to cover complete maintenance. The greens were nice and fast although there were a lot of unrepaired pitch marks. The lady in the pro-shop was very friendly and helpful on arrival and the starter was also very friendly. Overall a very nice course which could be great!!
Love This Place!
This course has the right combination beauty and challenge to make you never want to stop playing. I love coming here. It can and will give you fits of rage in one moment and then reward you with waves of euphoria the next. If you are ever in the Four Corners area you must make time to play it.
Awesome Course!!
I was driving through town and stoped and played here. Very glad I did. I loved this course. It was in great condition. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were awesome. The best course I have played in a while. Rough was thick but fair. If you are wayward off the tee be prepared to have trouble finding your ball. Tough sand, bushes, and trees to deal with all over the course. That did not take away from the experience though. Fantastic conditioned golf course. Highly recommend.
Great harvest host
Absolutely fantastic time. Randy at the pro shop was super, real five star treatment. We will definitely recommend this deal to friends who play.
Excellent course for the money
Hard to match the value of playing Pinon Hills. feels like a tour level course for muni rate.
Too fast to play
The pace of play felt rushed continually being run over by other players to the entire 18 holes would not recommend to a beginning due to the speed of the other players running you over felt like I was pretty much running the entire course
Reputation Intact
I’ve always wanted to play Piñon Hills, but was never able to until now. It lived up to its ranking and reputation.
Very nice value and conditions for Public Course
Long thick rough, keep it in the fairway ! Very nice condition with lush fairways and rough. I would say it’s a moderately difficult course, especially if you miss the fairways and don’t drive it long. I’m an 8 handicap but only drive it 200-220 yds. So at 6200 yds it plays long for me. With that said shot a nice 78 and definitely enjoyed the course !
Well worth the drive
My friends and I drove two hours from Pagosa Springs, CO to Farmington, NM to play Pinon Hills. It was well worth the drive! The staff were over-the-top friendly and helpful, The pace of play was perfect, and the course was in very nice shape. The price is very fair for a course of this quality. It’s no wonder so many golfers from Pagosa make the drive to Pinon Hills!
A fantastic day!
Our experience @ Pinon Hills was terrific! Randy (in the Pro Shop) was extremely helpful, friendly, and courteous, as well as very professional. Then we met Mark (our starter for the morning) who could not have been more pleasant and helpful! He was so accommodating to a particular need we had, and was one of the friendliest starters I've ever come across. Everyone on the premises was friendly and helpful. It was such a contrast to our home course! We can't wait for the next opportunity to play Pinon Hills. It's a real gem!
Great Course!
the course is in really good shape considering the heat and lack of moisture we have been having. The staff were extremely friendly and accomidating, would definately play again
