One of the best
This course hasn’t been in this good of shape in a long time if ever. Beautiful course
Great links style course!
Great course that is in great condition! 32.00 on a holiday was a plus.
Great Value
This course is already in better shape then when I played it last year. Great value even at full rate
Very disappointed!!!!!!!
Won't be back. Greens were beat up & missing grass in many parts of the green. So were the fairways. Par 3 tee boxes were horrible. We were told over the phone they would honor senior rates on Sunday morning. When we showed up they weren't standing by what they said. Charged us full price under bad conditions. We had 16 golfers & drove over 60 miles. Played there at least twice a year. Never again.
Nice day
This is a great course for the money. Usually this course is in very good condition however the greens are struggling. 2 of the greens had recently been punched with a very aggressive machine that made them unputtable. The rest of the greens were on the slow side with a lot of lazy people not fixing their divots. Not typical of this course. Great course to play 2 rounds as the afternoons aren't as busy.
Great challenging course
Calderone is a nice course to play. It has some challenging holes and overall was in good condition. Some of the tee shots are blind so pay attention to the corse map. For the price, you will definitely enjoy the round.
Calderone Golf Course
Played on Nov. 14, 2017. Weather was cool with little wind. Fairways in good condition. Greens had been aerated but were almost fully recovered. This is a challenging, but fair, course to play with some elevation changes that are a little surprising for this area of the state. Clubhouse is a basic one. Staff has always been very friendly. Always play this course at least once a year.
Great Value,
Played Calderone many times and is one of my favorites. Even with fall aeration underway, had a great experience. Well thought out pin placement and aeration of 1/2 the green at a time made for a very playable round. Staff was great and pace of play phenomenal. Looking forward to my next round. Numerous tee options also give great versatility to your experience
Great links course with lots of heather
Challenging, well maintained course. Great value, would definitely play again. If I had to nitpick, a lot of the bunkers are filled with gravel. For such a great course, that is not acceptable. A+ otherwise.
Pace of play
We played the front nine in 1 hour 30 minutes, we played the back nine in 2 hours 45 minutes, why because the front was played with all twosomes in front of us, we were a twosome but when we made the turn another two some joined up with the group in front of us and that slowed the rest of the golf course down to a crawl. They jumped on the back because they let out a group of couples 4 guys playing and the women not, but that only lasted 1 hole and they started playing and 8some. Very disappointed.
Love this place
This is a great place to golf if your a big hitter. Absolutely worth the money if your a back tee player. I golf all over Michigan and all over Texas. Honestly, for the money, this place is second only Houston National in Texas, and is very likely the best value for the money anywhere in Michigan. Obviously, if your not a back tee player then you may not agree, but if you can slam a driver 280+ then you have got to go to Calderone at least once.
A little drive but worth it!!!
I had golfed this course a few years ago with my golf partner. Recently had the desire(with a good price on golfnow) to make the 45 minute drive west to the Chelsea mi area. Played it two Saturdays in row.First with another couple and the next with my brother, This is a NICE course. The layout is fair and challenging from the white or blue tees and then there are the black for the young big hitters. The weather both Saturdays was perfect. The staff was friendly and cordial. The first week we played right at 4 hours..not bad.The second Saturday it was 4.5 hours. The course does not set a pace of play standard time..Our early pm tee time was just after an outing so we heard. We thought that would allow for a FAST pace with only a few groups out before us at 1...There was no ranger to monitor...but it did seem at least 1 foursome and maybe 2 in front set a bit of a slower pace than what one might expect.,,this seemed to be due to a rather slow pre shot routine by SOME of those we could see in front of us. All in all the nice weather mitigated some of this additional time.My only slight on this facility are the sand traps...they were a little below average in that with a little time and new fresh sand it would be that much more enjoyable. It was and is worth the drive from metro Detroit area to experience a good course in farm country
Great Layout and Value
Course has a wonderful layout and is in pretty decent condition. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Great track
Course is in great shape and plays fair greens are clean and roll well.
