Super dry greens, horrible fairways
I have never golfed a worse course than what I golfed on at Hankerd Hills tonight. We played the front and you could see right away that the very first fairway was like straw. Then when we got up to the first green, we could see that it was grey and brown, not green anywhere. The grass was so matted down and dry that it was like putting on cement. This was the case with at least 6 out of the 9 greens on the front. The fairways were dry and many were covered with grass clippings. There are MANY other courses in Jackson in great condition. No reason to waste your hard earned money at Hankerd Hills. Supposedly they had an irrigation issue, but if they knew that and knew their course was in such poor condition, they should have offered everyone discounts. They should be ashamed of themselves for charging people full price to golf on a course that is in such horrible shape.
Great food and clubhouse!
I have played this course many times. The only complaint I have is the regular people that golf out their all the time think they own the course! They will not hesitate to hit a ball right at you if your on a par three and putting out. I have had several occasions were I would be putting and a ball hits on the green, poor etiquette. Food is great, and course is well maintained and speedy greens.
