Golfer Reviews
Needs work
The course had a nice layout but was in bad shape . I played 3 courses while in town. Beaver creek was the nicest followed by Santa Maria . I would not play here again given the option between those 3.
Challenging course for a good price
Challenging course that is usually in very good shape. Tee times are generally available and the staff is friendly. I love playing at this course!
You won’t be disappointed
If you’ve never played here and have time to drive up to Zachary,La go ahead a book you a tee time here. Course is in excellent shape considering the dry weather here in SE Louisiana. Greens roll true, bunkers are well maintained, and the rough is not too bad to take a shot from. During the summer months you will find more defined fairways, but for $40 you cannot beat the price for the beauty of this place. Course layout is one of my favorites and I always come back here when I can’t play at my home course. Rumors are abound that in the next year they will be receiving new carts equipped with GPS and re doing the greens so it will only get better from what I’m seeing. Beware of the Geese that live on the 9th fairway. Course plays around 6200yards or so from the Copper Tees. You will find a mix of long Par 4s some shorter, mixed Par 3s that offer just enough challenge and risk for reward, very reachable Par 5s and one severely long Par 5. Wide open fairways line the front and back of the course. Hole 17 is likely the hardest to reach in 2 and probably plays a Par 5 for most golfers. You will enjoy this gem, give it a try!
College kids hitting into you
College kids hitting into us the entire time. Called Staff nothing done at first until we confronted the kids hitting into us and the staff then seemed to talk to them. Nowhere to go course backed up and bombing drives at peoples heads. Other than that great course.
can't make birdie
I had seven puts at birdies and did not make a one.
Close on all but none fell!
Great day to play and had good friends to share the day with-Can't get any better!!!
Excellent
Course was drier than normal but as is the case for many other courses in the BR area. Greens rolled true and were cut nicely, made for an enjoyable round as expected. Love coming back here to play.
Decent conditions, excellent pace of play
Greens were decent. Fairways in good shape. A couple tee boxes need repair. Bunkers need some attention.
Sunday morning, pace of play was excellent.
great layout, fairways like cement
I don't usually write reviews but I just wanted to mention the course conditions were "rough", meaning the fairways were solid. Almost impossible to take a good divot. You had to pick the ball clean. I realize it was mostly due to a lack of rain but there should've been some disclaimer about the conditions or a discounted rate. I chose to play there while on vacation from many that said it was a great course but the fairways were in bad condition. The greens and tee boxes were ok but balls were bouncing high in the fairway off the tee shot and running hard. I did really like the layout and design of the holes. Hopefully I can come back and play the course during a better time of year when it's green and softer.
Beautiful course
Fist time playing this course but will definitely go back. Greens were super fast with the lack of rain lately and some of the pin placements were way too protected for beginner golfers. The fairways were cut pretty low and balls ran for days. There were a lot of hard pan spots. The only other thing I would mention is some intersections need better signage, the cart path crosses itself a few times and can be a little confusing. The young people working the pro shop were super friendly and helpful.
Had a great time
Had not played this course in a few months and I can say it didn’t disappoint. The course was in great shape, the greens were a little bit tricky as some were fast and others were slower than expected. It was an early tee time so the morning dew was definitely a contributing factor. I really enjoyed the round and will definitely play there again.
Fairways where. Hardpan around the greens where soft the greens in great shape
Overpriced
Greens are crap, fairways are terrible, and they cram as many golfers as possible onto the course. GO TO BEAVER CREEK!!! It’s less than 5 miles away and it’s a MUCH nicer course.
