Older city municipal golf course that was built in the 1920's
Course conditions were very good for an older built golf course. Greens were in very good shape. If you want a fairly tight, easy to walk golf course, this course is for you. There is not enough acreage to have any practice range, just a putting green. Overall had a nice golf experience
Fun course
This is the first course I ever played as a teenager in the 1980's. I still enjoy playing it. It's not overly hard, but it's challenging. The course was in excellent shape and we had a great round.
A Good Time
My wife and I are beginners, we’ve been playing for about 6months and score around 100-105. We play this course together and found it to be challenging but not impossible. Some holes are harder than others, but they are all enjoyable.
When we play, there are always someone behind and in front of us; we have walked and used a cart; and all times we felt no pressure to rush or that we were annoying everyone. In fact, everyone seemed to be nice natured and encouraging.
The golfers seem to also be diverse. It a subtle thing, but matters when you are a golfer of color. Having other golfers or color and white golfers sharing a course and being so welcoming makes it more enjoyable.
If you are looking to play a course that will challenge you, but not frustrate you, this is the place.
Staff experience "Bad"
After completing 9 holes, at approximately 2:30 a secure lightning storm occurred and the sirens were blown. We went back to the clubhouse. I asked the pro shop attendant if we were done. His response was "I sounded the horn. I asked if we could get a rain check.
He said no because we booked on Golf Now and the City of Lafayette didn't get a penny from that. A non employee took over the conversation and said that if we wanted to keep playing in a lightning storm to make sure we held our club high.
After confirming that he didn't work there I asked the attendant if he agreed with that. He said yes. It then became a big joke and I felt belittled and talked down to. I said you all think this is funny but I don't.
I am 72 years old and have played this course for 53 years.
Good golf
Golf here was better than OK. Several greens needed work. We were in back of a 5 sum that would not let us through. By the 13th hole, it seemed like the entire course was in back of us and getting antsy. Marshall no where to be seen. Other than slow and rude play, this is an OK course. You get way you pay for!
Last Minute
Driving around I spotted this course. Not busy I got out immediately and was happy to walk. The course is in fine shape, greens are a little rough but playable. The layout is interesting for being flat. Watch out for the big ditch.
Always a Fun Challenge
Hebert is always a fun challenge! Greens, fairways and tees are all in good shape! I’ll challenge anyone to come beat this little course; she’s tougher than you think!
Quick Fun Challenging Round
It’s not the Blue Monster but it’s in great shape! Much better playing practice than hitting a bucket of range balls!
I could easily recommend too anyone!
Short Tuff Fun
It's not a 7898 yard layout but it will kick your tail!! Course is in great shape from tee box to green! Much better play practice than beating balls on a range!!
Thanks for the deals Golf Now because otherwise I wouldn't play at all!
Great bang for few Buckz!
A fun challenging layout that can kick your butt!
Tees, fairways and greens are in really good shape!
I’ll recommend it to anyone who likes to play golf; give it a shot!
Good value for the money!
My friend & I had a very pleasant round, hadn't played this course in a few years and was impressed how it is maintained.
Locally accessible
This is a great course for meeting a lot of friendly people who are golfers as well. Whenever I receive a call to play a round, I suggest this course for more reasons than one. Great food and respectful employees, they really make you feel appreciated.
