About
Llano River Golf Course has the wonderful distinction of being laid out along the scenic Llano River, with beautiful views and great golf. This course should be a must-play anytime you’re touring through the immediate area.
In addition to the scenery, the most memorable feature of this course is the tiny, postage-stamp-sized greens that require pinpoint accuracy and a solid short game for pars. In fact, these well-manicured greens compare favorably to the tricky burial mound greens of Alpine and Marfa, and are surely some of the smallest targets in the state.
Mature trees line the fairways, and water hazards come into play on only three holes.
The best birdie opportunity is the short, par 5 13th hole, playing only 437 yards. Good golfers can get there in two and give it a roll at an eagle putt. The ender is talked about as the signature, a difficult 502-yard par 5 with out-of-bounds along the left as well as behind the green.
Getting there : In Llano turn left on the north side of the courthouse and head out to the course.

Best bent grass greens in Texas
Some fairway’s were sparse of decent grass. The grass bunkers were not very nice but the greens were spectacular! Pace of play on a Saturday of masters week was incredible compared to Austin area courses. Definitely will be back!
Llano River Golf Course
Interesting layout with multiple types of terrain along the Llano River. Fairway conditions were average to poor. Golf cart paths were gravel. Greens were surprisingly good as compared to fairway conditions. Pace of play was excellent. Not many choices for playing golf within 20 miles of this course so it would suffice for golfers in the general area but not one to travel a distance to.

I have seen continued improvement to the grounds (dead tree removal and ground repair) over the last couple of months and now the entire course is greening up. Looking forward to another great summer of golf in Llano.
great value
Can't beat the price of 7 to 15 dollars when using a 10 dollar monthly reward.
Course actually has grass with many areas of bare dirt. Greens are small but actually rolling true and average speed. Greens greatly improved since last year when I played here.. I will come back again.
Llano River course on a Wednesday at midday
It was a beautiful day to be out. I only saw two other groups out playing. One group was very courteous and let me play through. I played two balls every hole with no one in front of me and no group behind me. The course is in excellent shape and I finished my round in three hours.
Interesting small town course
Enjoyed play here. Course has good layout but condition considering weather this summer and fall is superb. Great job!

taking into account the water restrictions in effect the course is in good shape - it was difficult to put in a tee in some of the boxes fairways were as good as can be expected greens were in great shape
