Golfer Reviews
Awesome course and spectacular scenery
My son and i played this course for the first time. We were greeted by the magnificent foliage display as we approached the course and throughout the course. The course was in the best shape of any courses I have played in VT, NH, GA and FL. The course was challenging for us but we didn't care what the score was because we were so awestruck by the scenery and the layout of the course. We can't wait to return to play again. The person who signed us in was very friendly and explained the course to us since it was our first time. The course also was well marked so we had no problem finding each tee. It also had distances to hazards which was helpful.
Top notch course
Great staff, great course, well manicured and tremendous hospitality.
Will play again
I booked this on a whim because I was in the area. I got a hot deal which was priced low for what I am used to paying.
Course is on the shorter side with some target golf to be played. Helpful to k ow the course but not mandatory for a good time. Fairways were in good shape and the greens rolled true. I will say the greens were spongy and a little slow but very healthy, which is the most important.
I didn't see a driving range but I don't care too much. 27 holes over all and I would recommend going and playing it. Fun times to be had
Excellent greens
7-20am first off, done by 10-45, a few rain delays. Played lake and forest
A few scenic holes, a challenge for intermediate level golfer, slow greens but I would play again
There are 3 nines, Forest, Lake and Mountain. Played Lake and Mountain on a Wednesday afternoon, good pace of play. Local player we were paired with said #5 on Mountain at 621 yards is longest hole in Vermont.
Fun day with family
Cool windy day so very few others out in drizzle. Great conditions (tees, fairways, greens). Fun day with son and wife. First time on Lake course - want to do again - challenging and scenic.
Stratton Mtn
Cart Path Only on a course this challenging makes it all that harder, especially for seniors. Difficult to determine distances and club selection. Greens were tough. Pace never the same and half were punched and not dressed. Did I mention the bunkers were in terrible shape? Never again!
Challenging
A must play if you are in the area. I think the next time I will try the mountain course.
mountain
staff in pro shop very unhelpful. and they were not helpful setting me up with my partners.
Lots ofs roped off areas in the fairways though out the course. Green were fast and true.
Nice course in a beautiful mountain setting
First time playing Stratton this year.I was pleasantly surprised by condition of course after reading recent reviews .While some bunkers were ground under repair this just goes to show that improvements are being made where needed.Fairways and tees were good and greens rolled true and were receptive from ample irrigation.I got a great deal fromgolf now. Bravo Stratton nice recovery from a brutal winter.
Beautiful Mountain course
I had the opportunity to play both the Forest and Mountain course. They are both absolutely beautiful and challenging. No one in front of us slowing us down and no one behind us rushing us along. The conditions were excellent, I am a golf course superintendent so from a management perspective I thought the course was superb. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great golfing experience. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Very scenic
The course had some some rough patches but otherwise a very scenic course.
Fairways in deplorable shape
Played the course a couple years back and was impressed so a group of us went back. WAS in really rough shape. Not even close to being worth $105 for the round. Felt ripped off. Would not recommend this course to anyone with the shape it is in. Avoid playing this course unless you get a heavily discounted rate. Might be worth $40-50 per round.
Punched greens
It would have been nice to know that all the greens were just aerated before we arrived.
Stratton
This course is made up of three nine hole course where you wind up playing two of them.
A great place to play golf will definitely return and hope to play the third course. Each course has its own personality and they are just beautiful.
