The Golf Club at Equinox

We stayed at the Equinox Resort and wanted to try their course. We called the course to make a reservation since we had a gift card and they said we could charge our rounds to our room. Asked if we should make the reservation online since we were on their website checking the price the week before we went, but they said they would handle the reservation. Played the course on Tuesday, not crowded at all and we played as just a twosome. Conditions were fairly good and the pace of play was good. Unfortunately, when we checked our hotel bill we were charged $136 each instead of the $96 that their website had stated. Asked at the hotel about the discrepancy and they said I had to call the course. Did that today and they just gave a runaround about their pricing being set by Golfnow and being dynamic pricing. I have checked the pricing on Golfnow and the course website and it seems to be consistent at $96 currently. You would think that hotel guests might get a better rate, but they just seemed to take advantage of us.

Course was beautiful and in very good condition. The amenities were very poor, especially for the price. There was no beverage cart and no food or drinks at the turn. The clubhouse was also very outdated and in need of some TLC. Also the golf carts were outdated and didn’t have any GPS.

Overall great playing experience but nothing that made us want to stick around after.

It's rated as a top 10 in New England and it does not disappoint. The Greenskeeper grew up on Higby Road outside of Utica, NY and you can see his Uncle's course in a few weeks on NBC @ the Ryder Cup. Have to love this review especially coming from a GolfNow member who has booked over 100 tee times in the last year alone. Equinox is now my favorite place just above The Ranch in South Hadley, MA and that place I've describe as Heaven. Absolutely nothing negative other than a small favor that GolfNow can address by correcting the Website's amenity where a cart is not inclusive of the booking. Our GN members usually are hit with a cart fee of $35.00 per person and typically pay without incident. I promised the wonderful staff at Equinox that I would help to resolve this in a gracious manner especially owing to the local ties with the "Royalty" that makes this place as spectacular as it is. Please address this so that other GN clients can continue to enjoy Equinox. Watch the Ryder Cup September 26-28 (USA Day 1 and NBC/Peacock Day 2 & 3) and see Bethpage Black Course ... think Equinox especially in the fall with lovely foliage as a backdrop to this paradise in Manchester, VT. The bunkers are absolutely insane but rewarding if you can find your way out. The fifth hole is devilish if you don't know what's coming. Otherwise, it's worth every penny and the 2.5 hour drive for us to get there from Central NY. GN, please help us ... Thanx !!!

Round was perfect. Staff was friendly, course was beautiful and and had an awesome time.

My son and I were excited to play Equinox, but this ended up being one of the worst customer experiences I’ve had in 35+ years of golf.

We booked two 18-hole rounds with a cart through GolfNow. After three holes, a storm rolled in and play was suspended. Totally understandable. I came back the next morning to get a rain check, only to be met by an assistant pro (name tag said “V”) who was rude, dismissive, and kept interrupting me. Even after I showed proof of what I booked, he said “I hate GolfNow” and refused to honor the reservation. No apology—just attitude.

Eventually, he offered a 9-hole rain check with a cart, which isn’t what we paid for. I also called GolfNow, and they confirmed it was a system glitch, but they couldn’t issue a refund since the course charged me directly.

I’ve played a lot of golf in a lot of places. I understand mistakes happen, but this was handled terribly. No ownership, no apology, no effort to make it right. Disappointed all around.

Nice course but we were surprised with $35 each for the cart which equals a total of $70 for one cart. The other GolfNow courses we played this week had the carts included in the rate.

Staff couldn’t have been nicer. Course was in excellent shape. Ground crew friendly and accommodating.

The course is fun with challenging greens and is a good walk. However, the bunkers continue to be inconsistent. Bunkers clearly have not been raked in a while also. At this price point that should not be an issue.

Enjoyed our round. Perfect place to take in the colorful foliage. Finished in under 4 hours. A few traps need sand. Only thing missing is a range.
