Tight, spread out
I play here regularly and lose a TON of balls. But the kids find more than I lose. Yep, kids are free here with you. I enjoy walking usually but at the bush I ride. Layout is very spread out, which is great for a private experience. Long distances between green and next tee. Quiet, fun course. Saw a bear and missed a moose walking across the 12th green by 10 minutes, saw the tracks and the group in front of us spoke about it. I try to avoid the busiest times. I have not had the most pleasant experiences with courtesy from other guests on more than one occasion.
Beautiful Mountain Views - Average Conditions
This was my first time playing Sugarbush Golf Club. I had a good time and loved the views and scenery.
The course is overpriced vs. other courses in the area. You can pay the same price and play Stowe Country Club and the conditions at Stowe C.C. are MUCH better and the course is much more straight forward.
The course has LOTS and LOTS of blind shots (both tee shots and approach shots). The conditions of the course (tee boxes, fairways, rough, etc. were just average - not a $130 price conditions). As you would expect from a mountain course, there are lots of elevation changes which adds to the challenge of the course.
You better be straight off the tee of you will find trouble everywhere as there are lots of sloping fairways due to being located on the side of a mountain.
The greens were awesome and in fantastic condition (much better than the rest of the course conditions). The greens are a true test with lots of subtle breaks, slopes and challenges.
The staff is great and very accommodating. The 19th Hole is fantastic with AWESOME views and scenery.. You see lots of wildlife and natural beauty. I just wish the price with much more in line with the conditions of the course especially when you can pay the same price for other courses and get much better conditions.
Great views! leave your driver in your bag
Yes, leave your driver in your bag or hit it straight! Typical New England mountain course. Don't let the yardage fool you: the ball travels well and you have uphill and down hill lies. The course was in great shape, Green aeration was done a week ago. Pay for the yardage book and pay attention- lots of red stake and white stake off the tees (and elevation) Staff is great and the 19th Hole is great if you can sit out on the deck (beware the Yankee fans!) This course is unwalkable !
