Fun day, fun tournament, awesome course conditions
I had the chance to play in a recent community scramble tournament at Ralph Myhre Golf Course, and it was an absolute blast. Great people, great cause—and a course that truly exceeded all expectations.
I hadn’t played Ralph Myhre in years, and I was stunned by how much the course has improved. The conditions were top-notch, the layout was fun and challenging, and everything—from tee to green—felt dialed in. You can tell the team here has put in a ton of work over the past decade.
Events like this remind you how special a course can be when it’s deeply rooted in the community and professionally maintained. Honestly, it’s hard to imagine a better public golf experience in Vermont. Ralph Myhre might just be the best public course in the state—and it’s also one of the most welcoming.
Already looking forward to the next one!
Another great round at an amazing public course
There’s something special happening at Ralph Myhre Golf Course.
I played here years ago and enjoyed it then, but after returning recently, I was genuinely amazed. This is no longer just a nice local course—it’s in a league of its own. The past decade has brought a complete transformation, from course conditions to infrastructure, and the result is a course that rivals (and maybe even surpasses) any other public course in Vermont.
Perfectly maintained greens, thoughtful design upgrades, and a setting that captures the natural beauty of the region—it all adds up to an experience that feels premium without the private club price tag. Ralph Myhre is not just better than it used to be—it’s arguably the best public golf course in the state.
If you haven’t played it recently, it’s time to change that.
The Best Golf Lesson
I recently visited Ralph Myhre Golf Course and had an amazing experience both on the course and at their restaurant. The driving range was fantastic. The grounds were well maintained and scenic views added to the overall enjoyment of my time there.
After the game, I headed to the restaurant. The chicken tenders, cookies and chicken quesadilla were really good. On Sundays, they have Sunday sessions with live music.
The staff at both the golf course and restaurant were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy a great day of golf followed by a delicious meal.
The Ralph
The course was in fantastic condition all season.
The staff was very friendly, always taking time to say hello.
Tavern on the Tee made me feel like a VIP
Thank you!!!
The Definition of a perfect day!
Incredibly nice day! The course is in immaculate shape even considering the extreme drought. This course is in much better shape compared to the others in the region and the price is probably the most reasonable! Capped the day off with an amazing Philly and a Switchback at the clubhouse while enjoying the views overlooking the course and the green mountains! :)
Great track!
While vacationing in Vermont last summer I played a number of different courses. None came close to Ralph Myhre. It is an aesthetically beautiful course. Its moderately difficult......and the greens fees are reasonable.
Staff was very accommodating....I like to play early and typically arrive before the course is open. They had no issue and sent me right out.
Great layout, great condition !
Ralph Myhre Golf Course is in great shape again this year. Greens are rolling true, many trees gone giving it a very open feel.
Good value.
Amazing hidden gem!
This place is awesome! A lot of people think it's a private course.. BUT IT"S NOT! It's owned by Middlebury College but is totally open to the public! The views are incredible! They have made many huge improvements to this track over the past few years such as better drainage and the removal of over 200 trees which has really been a game changer. Last year they added a brand new restaurant and bar which has really improved the atmosphere. (They food is amazing! I highly recommend the steak and cheese.) This season they acquired a brand new fleet of golf carts that have USB plugs for your gps. If you haven't visited this course before or if you haven't visited in a while, I recommend checking it out, you will be happy you did!
Fun Course
The course was in great shape, considering the amount of rain that happened the days before. I play this course a few times a year. The course is always in great shape and the greens are always perfect. Nice little short game practice area, but unfortunately the range has mats.
Absolutely terrible
I had heard good things so I drove an hr and 40 minutes to play here with my brother using the golf value book punch pass. The experience was awful. There were very few golfers, but somehow we were shadowed by greens keepers the entire time mowing and turning on sprinklers all around us. We had to ask Greens keepers to be quiet while putting and teeing off, and the icing on the cake was when they completely drenched us and all our stuff when they turned on the sprinklers while we were teeing off on the 14th.
We had the "audacity" to ask for a refund (of only $20) and were treated terribly by the manager who said "it's just a little water". They were disrespectful, condescending, and the worst pro shop staff I have ever encountered. They also laughed at us for using the punch pass.
This place was terrible and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Beautiful course
Gorgeous mountain views from every hole. Tee boxes, greens & fairways in fine shape. All in all, a beautiful course in a beautiful setting.
Good setting
There's a great variety of holes here, the terrain is excellent!
Was sent out as a single, in a cart, which made for a round that felt "slow".
long course, challenging greens
course is quite beautiful, greens are tricky and fast. it is also hard to hold the green and you need that great approach shot to score well. Many greens are elevated. quite a challenging course in my opinion.
A Beautiful Day
The Course played very well. The fairways were very well kept and very spongy making it easy to hi a beautiful approach shot from wherever you are. The rough is think and grabs your club, but it usually sits up and gives you a great chance to make a birdie or save par.
Some of the fairways are wide open and some of them you should expect to hit a tree. They have some very beautiful holes and the average golfer would really enjoy this course.
Expect to see other on the course but it is a fairly forgiving course and the staff is amazingly friendly..
Ralph Mhyre
Great course. In good shape and getting better. If your in the area play this course.
Course is long but fun
Course in great shape, pace was good and the day was beautiful.
Lovely views
Beautiful course on a beautiful VT summer day. The course offered challanges yet the conditions made it a rewarding experience. Will definitely return!
nger than it appears.
A good course. Need to be straight and true on a lot of holes. The 11 th is my personal favorite.
Challenging Course in Great Condition
The course itself has a simple layout but the pace of the greens make the course challenging. The course itself is in beautiful shape and all the staff was incredibly friendly. This course is well worth the money and a lot of fun to play.
