The Ranch course at Tonto Verde Golf Club is the newer one, this golf course designed exclusively by Gary Panks, who laid it out over 6,988 yards, upon which it has played host to several golf events at the professional and amateur level since it opened in 2002.
The Ranch golf course at the Tonto Verde Golf Club serves power golfers due to the distance, though it will certainly test those who golf a good short, thanks to big greens that are bunkered well and slope, too.
The Tonto Verde Golf Club offers stay-and-play packages for those who don't want to lodge themselves too far from the Peaks and Rancho golf courses. Pets are generally welcome, and the minimum stay is only three nights.

great course
Played about 30 rounds this winter and this has to be either top course or a close second. Everything was in great shape and the course if beautiful. Some very interesting and challenging holes. Don't pass up an opportunity to play this course if you have the chance.
Great Setting
The Ranch course was fairly open, with not much challenge off the tee, but made up for it with large, fast greens with lots of subtle breaks. Course was scenic with mountains all round, although houses lining the fairways. Not intrusive though. Very good course condition.
Desert Gem
Although far off the beaten path this is worth the drive. Excellent staff, amazing layout, and great conditions. This course has all the markings of a classic desert layout
Tonto Verde is great value
Tonto Verde is a great value. The course is very interesting and in great shape. The staff is helpful and friendly. It was a thoroughly enjoyable golf experience for much less money than equivalent courses in Scottsdale. Tonto Verde is a hidden gem.
Very good course. Good variety from hole to hole. Beautiful vistas. Tonto Grill is outstanding.. Very friendly staff. Very fun putting course. Well worth the drive. Great value.
Challenging yet fun
Course was in very good shape. Scenery was spectacular! Pace was good - played in under 4 hours. Enough different holes to keep it interesting.
Worth to play the Peaks
A bit too slow but the field is in top shape. When it’ S sunny some viens are awesome!

Worth The Drive!
Second of three for WMPO weekend, and I'd say the best overall value. Fairways are tight, shot placement is important with hazards. Greens were in fantastic shape. Note, this is a members club that has public tee times. Often the members are a bit standoffish to the public, but not here. EVERYONE was super friendly!
