SunRidge Canyon Golf Club provides adventure amid natural terrain over 7,002 yards of par-71 golf. The golf course was laid out by the golf course architect Keith Foster, who hid the golf course in the ridges and canyons of the foothills of the McDowell Mountains, one of the last untouched bastions of the Southwestern United States.

The SunRidge Canyon Golf Club's signature hole is the 17th, and it is unique, giving golfers the option of shooting a 209-yard, par 3 over a box canyon today and then going for a 152-yard par 3 from an elevated tee tomorrow. Foster discovered the elevated-tee opportunity during a tour of the golf course while it was being constructed and added the Canyon set of tees right then. The vistas he knew golfers would get were enough to convince Foster to set up the second set of tees.

After a round of golf at the SunRidge Canyon Golf Club, head back to the Ridge Room, which attracts visitors and locals for the great view and Southwestern cuisine.

Terrible conditions don’t waste your money

Display should be ashamed of themselves, absolute, terrible conditions. I don’t know how they stand business with Green the way they are. Charging $200? Criminal.

200 for this course is outrageous

There are other courses in the valley in way better condition for cheaper. It’s actually kind of funny how bad the conditions were for them charging so much and pretending like their course is in normal shape. Please avoid this place at all costs. The layout is fun, but not worth 100 let alone 200. The guy at the front desk was OK but homeboy at the dog house on eight was late so we did not get any food which kind of sucked. But the point for this review isn’t because of that. I want to let the people know to avoid this place right now until conditions improve. Not worth it whatsoever. I recommended this course because of how great it was two years ago. Not anymore.

An interesting desert golf course

Friendly and helpful people work here. The condition of the course itself is average. The track reminds me of an old school New England course in a desert setting. The greens seem to be hurting and many under repair. Fluctuating fairways and greens and many blind shots down the fairway. The front was pretty fair, but the back 9 was as challenging as they get.

Excellent Experience

I love this course! My wife and I have a place in Fountain Hills and I play Sunridge Canyon every time we are in town. Excellent amenities and practice facility. The course is spectacular. The layout and conditions are prime, and the Wicked Six are a great challenge coming late in the round. Tough but fair seems to be the goal, and it always plays that way. Love this course!

Sone greens in bad shape.

Handful of greens really in bad shape. Course was not in Spring shape fir the $$). I’ve played it a few times and this might be the last. Too many good options for the $$$ to keep going back. Good layout and could be great if it was in good to better condition.

Good Course. Pace of Play was hirrible

The layout is good and the conditions were nice. Greens were good. However, it took almost 5 hours to play 16 holes and had leave to catch our plane because the round took so bloody long. Also, to pay $250 per player was not great given that we couldn’t even finish

Challenging and fun

Always enjoy playing here. Course was in good shape except for a number of greens where they’ve lost considerable turf. Pace of play good but slower on back side as holes get tougher.

Worst course in AZ!!!

suckered into playing Sunridge Canyon on Saturday and all I can say is it is still the worst or one of the worst courses in all of Arizona and maybe anywhere.

i would not wish on the worst golfer or even the worst person I know.

The course is in horrible shape tee to green; especially the greens. The greens are so beat up. There’s patches where they were repaired some places, other spots where repairs didn’t take or looks like they didn’t even try and it’s just packed and lumpy, inconsistent sand that no golfer would want to putt on.

The fairways are the best part. They’re actually pretty good. The grass from overseed mostly took well.

The rough is just inconsistent pretty much hole to hole. You can have one 2 inch area of rough -green or yellow grass-and then you can have 3 inch yellow stuff or just matted down yellow stuff and you never have a consistent lie to hit out of.

The bunkers are terrible. Some are full of rocks. Some are just muddy, dirty lumpy, sand, and just inconsistent to play out of. Rounded and beat up tee boxes. Erosion in many spots!

Then of course, not to mention it is still one of the worst designs with bad/dumb/gimmicky and penalizing holes. There is just nothing redeeming about the course.

To top it off, not one friendly staff at all! The starter was an angry old guy that made everyone feel unwelcome and uncomfortable!!

I would encourage anybody considering it for a visit/teip or even local to not even consider it as an option especially for the price that they’re asking they’ll be asking over 300 here pretty soon. It’s 200 within the next week and just not worth it. there’s so many better courses that you can spend your money and time and enjoy yourself!!

we had a group of 20 and not one single person had a positive thing to say about it and only negatives!

Not worth the money

The course is in terrible condition. The greens are awful with endless dead patches and rolled as smooth as a shag carpet. The bunkers have no sand so have fun there. They should be ashamed of the course based on what they’re charging to play. Save your money and play elsewhere.

Horrendous course. Overpriced and horrible condition.

Extremely overpriced for the condition the course is in and lack of amenities. To say the course was in playable conditions is laughable, calling it horrible conditions would still be an understatement. Most tee boxes were similar to hitting out of the rough and all were less leveled than the unplayable greens. Several greens you couldn’t even putt on, they were in such poor condition that you had to just pick up your ball. Fairways looked like a Municipal course during reseeding. We were told there would be cart services at the turn and on the course; there was no one at the turn and didn’t have cart service until the start of hole 15. If it’s choosing this course or no golf, I’d say save your money and call it a range day.

Not fair to the golfer

I think it is an unfair golf course. You get a great shot and when you look for the ball it has ended up in the desert. Th hills favor going in the desert. Won t play it again.

Disappointed

Course layout was great. Tough and fun. Fairways were good. Greens are worse than my home course that's 40 to play. Was told day of that a temporary green on hole 3 when I called a week prior to verify conditions and that wasn't a part of it. Was told immaculate shape. For $90, this course right now is barely worth 50. Traveled 2 hours to play a 2 star course for 90? Pathetic.

Horrible, Overpriced Track

One of the worst courses you can play in Arizona for the price. Fairways and greens are dead, they have track marks on the fair way from when they cut/seed the grass, and they will over charge you the whole way. This is a track you should only pay $20-$30 for in the summer, but they will happily charge you $80 for no reason. The #3 hole had a false green in the middle of the fairway that was 40 yards short of the pin, and they still charged normal prices. If you are looking for a good track in Fountain Hills, go to Eagle Mountain or We-Ko-Pa. They will charge you much more reasonable rates, and the course will actually be in playable conditions. Horrible course, wouldn’t recommend anyone to play here.
