My first time here, snagged the first tee time on Father's Day. Pace of play not an issue with no one in front of me. With a slope of 118, LW has a nice layout that offers challenges without being stupid hard for a 15 handicap player like me. Tee boxes were fine, if a little dry. Fairways are okay, with some needing a cut and others still undergoing improvement, but very playable. The greens rolled true and their condition stood out as a positive aspect of the course. A few greens are on the smaller side, LW is a course to play and one of the few in this region that are worth the trip by my standards. Just 3 minutes off the Cumberland Parkway, I will definitely make a return trip!
First time
We only played two holes before a storm came in. They gave us a rain check. The green are very good . They are doing good things to improve.
Great as always
Grounds crew has done an excellent job. So many changes over the past few years, all in an effort to improve the course quality and they're nailing it. Can't wait to see it in a few weeks after more rain and mowing. I could play here everyday and never get tired of it.
Shouldn't have even been open...
Arrived at the course. Was only told to not drive in the fairways because they had just been "redone"...then first hole green was covered in sand, but was playable. After that all the greens (other than the last 3) were all covered in sand, and pins had been thrown to the side of the greens. Got to the back nine and they had just dumped all the sand on the green and had not spread it. We had to skip the next 6 holes because it was not playable. Before taking our money, this should have been explained. Course should have worked 9 holes and kept the other open. This is not the first time there have been lack of communication in regards to conditions. We love playing there, but no more. You just never know whether the course will be playable. For me, it's a no go for a VERY long time!!
They are working on it
We always enjoy a round at the Pines at Lindsey Wilson golf course. When we played, front nine was closed due to maintenance. They were seeding the fairways in bluegrass and we heard they were going to pave all cart paths in the future. Looks like some of the rough is pretty rough, but they are working on upgrades. When all work completed, we look forward to rating this course a total 4-5 stars!
My biggest complaint was the number of people playing in a group. Even though the rules clearly stated no more than 4 in a group, I observed several groups with anywhere from 5 to 7. Really slowed down the pace of play.
a good place to play
the course was in good shape the greens was in good shape fairway was mowed and in great shape still need sand for the bunkers only bad thing was we had to wait 30 minutes for a cart to come in they had 8 or 9 carts tore up the belt broke on them the guy at the desk said the mechanic was coming that afternoon which he did we saw him trying out the carts he repaired a good place to play for the money
