Wow Hulman Exceeded Expectations
Hulman exceeded my expectations by a mile. Course has a superb routing that felt like a sublime walk with nature while golfing. Course felt like it had one signature hole after another. The conditions could have been a little better, but fairways and greens were very playable.
If you want big, bold, beautiful course then play here.
Enjoyable course
Had a friend who went to school in the area and suggested Hulman Links. It was a fun course to play and was in very good condition.
Greens were excellent and rolled well. Not sure why but they were "spongy" to walk on, though, and I felt like I was leaving footprints on a lot of the greens.
Layout is entertaining with a lot of trees and some good elevation changes, as would be expected in a woodland-style course. Water comes into play on a good number of holes, too. All in all, a fun place.
Great shape for August!!
Played in mid-August and was pleasantly surprised at how good of shape the entire course was in!! From tee to green nothing but GREEN!!
Except for #16 green (which is unusable due to no grass-understand there was a watering problem?) the course was in impeccable condition, especially for August.
I've always said if you can score decently at Hulman Links you can play ANY course because it's a brute!! You will hit every club in the bag. Trust me it's extremely challenging.
If it were in Indy it would easily be a $75-$100 course.
Tough but fair.
Skills are put to the test on this beautifully wooded course. Lots of sand and water that is very well maintained.
Beautiful fairways
Hulman links put in zoysia fairway a few years ago, and they have filled in really nice...(not that I was in them a lot!). Course is very enjoyable with big undulating greens. My only complaint would be the condition of the bunkers, but then hardly anybody (around here, at least) maintains their bunkers any more. We played rake and place in them. We were charged a $14 "convenience fee", which made the discount a little less...Hulman or Golfnow?...don't know.

Nice course
Nice course. Nicely maintained. And very friendly staff.
Hulman Links Review
This course is in great shape. About two years ago the course put zoysiagrass on the course and it has made the course very nice. On Mondays they have a $20 cart and green fee special and on Tuesdays and Thursdays they have a $30 (could be $25) that includes lunch. This course is fun to play from whatever tees you chose to play from.
Not For Beginners
Course will keep you thinking, lots of water, sand and trees. Enjoyable if you are average or above average player. Bring a supply of balls if you have trouble keeping ball on fairway. Having said that it is fun course and yes go play!
Hulman links the beauty and the beast.
This beautiful course has everything that I'm always looking for - water, elevation change, and mature tree lines. It is one of the toughest golf courses in the area. Bring enough balls!
I still cannot believe it is a public course. Hulman Links was a dream of racing legend Tony Hulman and I really thank him for donating land and funds.
Great Layout
Had read reviews where course condition was not that good, but was pretty good when I played. The property has flat and hilly areas and a really nice variety of holes to keep your attention. I live about an hour away, but will definitely come back.
Slow play but challenging
Waited on groups ahead of me on every shot. Challenging course though. Had to hit irons off tee on a lot of par 4's due to forced carries and dog legs that I was not confident trying to tackle with driver. I like golfing like that though because it requires a little more thought than "driver, wedge" type golf. Try to go during the week in the afternoon for quicker play.
Hulman Links
Have recently redone fairways switching to zoysia which should be coming nicely this year. Greens are in phenomenal shape. Many risk rewards involving variety of shots in order to score well. Greens accept shots at the flag, but roll very true. It is important to be on the correct section of the green or most likely you will three putt. Challenging but doable from the correct tee boxes. Staff is phenomenal and great drink prices in the 19th hole. Overall one of the great municipal golf courses in the country.
Perfection
Just can't say enough about the greens. They were absolutely perfect. Very fast, little form, rolled pure.
Great Course
Terrific course.... great layout... fairways and greens....some sparse spots around the greens.
Nice layout great value
The course overall was in good shape with a couple of spots that need a little attention. Great course layout/design. Played fair and challenging. Multiple tees gave you options of how much of a challenge you want to take on. Great pace of play and everyone on staff and on course we're very friendly. A great place to play.
Fathers Day
At one point there was 5 groups on one hole!! Get a ranger on the course at busy times.
This course will make you think
First time I played this course and it held plenty of surprises. Truly enjoyed the layout. Course had a good mix of hole combinations. Greens were in good condition. Would have liked to see better markings on the course. I have no doubt I will be back to play this course again.
