Shore Gate Golf Club

While a lovely, nicely maintained course, a foursome two groups ahead of us managed to turn a lovely day into a five-plus hour round because the starter/staff couldn't manage a foursome two groups ahead of us. Add to this, the two old "golfers" in the cart with the handicap flag who harassed and threatened two women in front of them but not two big young guys ahead of us who were also backed up. We had a much better time at Avalon and Cape May Nat'l courses this week and will skip Shore Gate in the future.

Course is very nice and challenging. However, you need to have a Ranger watching over the golfers that slowed the pace down significantly. We got to know the groups in front and back of us very well with the group two ahead playing like they were the only people on the course. Ridiculous

Golf course was fun to play. Tee Boxes were beat up. It was worth playing and I will play here again

Always a great experience playing here. This course, for the most part, kicks my buttocks but I have the utmost respect for it.

I have a house in Sea Isle and play here about once a year.

This is the last time I willingly play here in season. The course was full of beginners, including the two people I was matched up with. They had trouble getting the ball airborne.

The slope is 140 from the white tees. NOT a course for beginners.

The layout is very pretty and challenging for an intermediate golfer. We've played this course a few times, and we've always had a good time.

The conditions this time were the worst I've seen yet. The tee boxes were very beat up. There was water in the bunkers. Some wet spots in the fairways and rough.

That said, the hole placement on the fast greens was crazy and for a terrible putter like me, it was a difficult experience.

Excellent layout and a few challenging holes. Lots of traps make it challenging. The up keep of the course is handled very well. Love this course.

Played the course on a hot summer day, so we felt like we had it to ourselves. Despite the heat wave, it was in good condition. Always a fun course to play. Tough, but fair.

We used to play Shore Gate every year when we went to Stone Harbor. Stopped about 10 years ago, and didn't go back because I heard the course condition had gone downhill. Went back this year and was pleasantly surprised. Fairways/tees/greens all in great condition. Still a tough course with plenty of sand. Only complaint I have is the back 9 was very slow, and there was no marshal anywhere to be found.

If you like it challenging, Shore Gate is the course you want to play. From the massive bunkers, many water hazards and hard fast greens your game will be tested to the max. The staff is great and the practice facilities are excellent. There are many memorable holes and the whole experience is top notch.
