Port Royal Golf Course

I am a local who has played Port Royal countless times. The grounds people are doing a great job maintaining this quality course and making ready for the upcoming PGA event in October. The rain we have had this summer no doubt also assisted. Everything was lush and well-manicured, and the greens were in fantastic shape rolling at about an 8, a good pace kept slower due to possibilities of high winds on the coast. They can be made far faster if the grounds people really wanted, but the PGA decide before the major tournaments. On this day the weather was perfect. We got the first tee off and two of us got around in 3 hours and 10 minutes which made us even happier. Later groups no doubt would be slower. My only negative was finding a price online for $95 and after calling to confirm price, was accidentally told that included the golf cart and it did not. Recently I played at equally if not higher priced golf courses so I think the conditions warranted, although all of us would prefer lower prices.

The course is pretty expensive and without warning, these are the worst greens I’ve ever seen in my entire life. The layout of the course is nice with with some pretty holes, but the layout doesn’t make up for how poor these greens are and how unplayable these conditions are don’t come here

We arrived early and starter let us tee off early! Staff was very friendly. Course was in top condition. Our 2nd time at Port Royal and will continue to play again. Staff gave us a lift down to street level after our round. We really appreciated it!

The course has been in great shape for the past two weeks I’ve been playing. Bunkers and greens very nice. Did I mention the wind? Haaahaa, a lot but simply made for interesting rounds. Beautiful views, lovely people (staff). Play it if you get a chance.

I come back again and again.

I golfed five straight days using my Golf Pass membership. Challenging golf course that is the venue for a PGA tournament in the fall. First two days more challenging because of heavy wind but other three days perfect weather. Many holes uphill with many bunkers but fairways were generously wide. The fairways and greens were excellent especially for March golf. Many picturesque holes to play and photograph.

The clubhouse staff were very helpful. I was able to store my clubs at the course each night rather than take them back to my rental accommodation. I was given cart rides across the course as I was walking on the course from my Airbnb. The staff were extremely friendly and treated me like I was at a private club.

The green fees look expensive, but by using my Golf Pass membership to play five rounds, I saved more than fifty percent off the posted rates. A great golf venue for any avid golfer.

Great course and price reasonable with discount for this quality and a PGA course. Unfortunately, offseason greens were grainy and slow

Course was in good shape but expected better given the playPGA Butterfield tournament here in November. Several greens had some damage to them. The club house was old and tired looking especially to host a PGA event. Staff not friendly or helpful.

Great staff from the time I arrived until it was time to go. Great course with spectacular views.

I enjoyed my recent round at Port Royal. The layout is strong with good shot values and awesome views particularly on the back nine. The overall condition was a bit below average due to spotty, brown, bumpy greens. However, that said, the greens still rolled well enough so that in combination with decent fairways and tees I was to have a satisfying experience. Value was reasonable only because of the Golf Now Hot Deal- at full rate it would have been overpriced.

This course has been in bad condition for the last 2 years. The greens are un puttable. The fairways are dry, lumpy with little grass, the rough is in poor shape as well. It’s a shame because the course has nice ocean views and a fun layout. It used to be in good shape but they let it go.

It’s insanely overpriced for the condition it’s in, $135 on golf now hot deal up to $220 full price. In the condition it’s in it’s not worth $75, much $45 without ocean views.

The bartender at the turn is lazy & slower than molasses.

Don’t waste your money here or book a trip to play it because you will be disappointed.

My son and I played this course, and to be fair it was an evening (5:00pm) game and middle of march.

The putting greens on the first two holes were bad, no other way to say it. It definitely improved from there, but none of the greens were good enough.

As to the views from the course, they were spectacular.

I would give the course another chance, to prove it is worth the money they charge for the rounds.
