Port Royal Golf Course
About
Located on the shorefront of Southampton Parish, the Port Royal Golf Course is one of the most frequented public golf courses in Bermuda and it is even known as being one of Jack Nicklaus' favorites. Robert Trent Jones designed this 18-hole course, which hosts the Bermuda Open Championship every year. Doglegs and wind are just some of the factors that will challenge golfers on this course. The signature hole is the scenic and rather infamous 16th, situated precariously atop craggy cliffs that overlook the Atlantic Ocean. The hole requires a nearly perfect shot in order to reach the green. Port Royal Golf Course has garnered such a following that some golfers reserve starting time a year in advance.

Vacation golf
Fantastic round of golf while on vacation here in Bermuda. Course beautiful and challenging. Rental clubs excellent-staff wonderful!
Port Royal CC, Bermuda
Great Course Layout, & Conditions with very significant elevation changes on majority of holes. Hoped to get 15% Green’s Fee Reduction with MD15 Promo Code, but it didn’t go through on 5/27 reservation, but was able to get it to go through on 5/28 reservation with Promo Code MD25 for 25% reduction.
Beautiful scenery. Nice course but too many sand traps around greens took some of the enjoyment out of round
Bermuda at its best
Spring or fall, my wife and I head off to Bermuda when our Canadian courses are closed for the season. What a joy! The people are great and the course is immaculate. Not too hot, not too cool - just like the Three Bears would wish wish it to be. The lay out is classical. The tees are thoughtfully placed for all levels. No complaints from us.
Spectacular!
I enjoyed this course more than any I have played in 33 years of golfing. The pace was slow, about 4 1/2 hours. The Marshall approached very politely and asked us to pick up the pace on the 10th hole. I told him we are waiting on every hole since the 3rd due to a foursome a couple groups ahead that was taking a lot of pictures. I can’t say I blame them. The beauty of this place is stunning! The layout is challenging but fair. Course condition is great. The staff was very professional and friendly. Totally enjoyed the round and then had a nice meal at the restaurant. Best day ever!! If this course doesn’t make you happy, give up the game or get some therapy.
A day well spent
The course is beautiful with gorgeous settings. Pace of play was good because it was quiet, however they only put players together if both parties agree. This would definitely slow up play during busier times. The amenities are average on the course, the ladies washroom on 4 didn’t have a sink. This didn’t deter our enjoyment of our game by any means. The staff is very friendly. We booked on GolfNow and received a very reasonable rate. We played this course 4 times in a week as it was near our accommodations. We are reasonably good golfers and this course challenged us every time. You will enjoy this course!
Outstanding views complement good golf opportunity
The course is in excellent condition, the staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful, and views that accompany you on your round are outstanding. And, if you like a bit of challenge, you'll enjoy the 16th hole (read about it on Port Royal's website).
Very very nice course. Well maintained
The only problem with the golf experience was that there was a large ladies tourney in the morning before my 12:30 start time. The pace of play with the ladies was slow and I waited until 1:20 to get a cart and start. With a fair amount of rushing we just barely got finished before it was too dark to play
Great Bermuda Course
Though prone to being very windy, the course is always in great shape and beautiful. It offers a variety of layouts, from straight away holes, shorter, risk/reward layouts and multiple doglegs to test you. Bunkers are laid out well and the holes along the coast are just beautiful. My favorite spot is on the green of 7 where you go up an incline to get a magnificent view of the ocean and the rest of the course below.
Magical setting
Must play Port Royal at least once in your life. Beautiful layout with some spectacular views. 15th and 16th holes worth the price. Greens always in great shape.
amazing views and some great golf!!
We were theer for a 2 day cruise stop so playing 18 holes on a regular course was the perfect option. Course was just a couple of miles from the cruise ship, taxi was easy but and extra $25 expense each way. The day was perfect. Views amazing. Course impeccable. Had just been aerated so green were tough to play. Would recommend this course to anyone visiting Bermuda!!
Spectacular location
One of my favourites anywhere. Unfortunately the course had recently been arreated and the greens were bumpy and sandy. Pet peeves with this high-end, high priced venue:
No ice in the coolers on the carts and no water provided.
So scenic
Top notch facility! Views on back nine are 2nd to none. Great staff!
