Reviews
Great course for beginners won't lose your balls as long as much. Open and friendly beautiful and still challenging. Every part of the course was immaculate.
Beautiful
Course was in amazing condition even with all the rain we had the week we went. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will be returning here.
A fun track with epic views
I will never not enjoy playing Canaan Valley and always grab at least 9 when we’re in the area. The staff is always friendly, the course is almost always in great shape, and the layout is challenging but friendly to newer golfers and mid to high handicappers. Almost every hole gives you a view of the nearby mountains and that is an experience that can’t be undersold.
The only thing that would make this place better is if they could but some EV chargers, like they have 1.3 miles away at the lodge, in the golf parking lot. Hopefully that happens in the near future to make this even more convenient for guests.
Addicting course!
We had a rough outing performance wise but we still had a great time and enjoyed the scenery and challenges of the course. So much so that we came back the next day and gave it another go. We played much better having learned a bit from our first round. All the staff were very helpful and the weather was hard to beat. One of the more addicting courses I’ve played.
Would play again any time!
From the staff in the clubhouse to the folks out on the course, everyone ranks 10/10 in friendliness and helpfulness. The course is very fun and pretty well kept. There is a little bit of everything to test your game. We only lost a couple balls all day long so we were feeling great! There were some awesome moments out on the course that we’ll probably be thinking of for a long time. All in all we had a great time and would come back and play again any time.
Fantastic experience
Kudos to the starter / ranger who did a fantastic job of asking the slower groups to let the twosomes through.
We played 2 consecutive days in under 3 hours.
A fantastic experience.
Let the big dog eat
Wide open course for people who like to use the driver. I had to play the front 9 twice due to aerification. Greens still rolled fairly well. Plush fairways & tee boxes. Course is long & has some forced carries over water but is fairly easy. Had to deal with some wind. I got a good price from hot deals on Tee Off.Com
Beauty
Always look forward to playing here and the views never disappoint. Nice track with nice elevation changes and beautiful setting. Greens are large and slow but roll nice. Bunker conditions were terrible. Hard pan sand and mud. Staff is always friendly but good luck getting through on the phone. Book it online at their website. Will definitely be back Lord willing.
The Promised land
We play Canaan usually from June through September when the weather is somewhat warmer and more predictable. We use our VIP cards to save about 30 dollars on the round. Replay rate for 9 is reasonable. This course is fun because it is open with large greens-- the anti- Lakeview in Morgantown. It is well-maintained and the greens are smooth and medium quick. Fairly flat, but does have some elevation variety to keep it interesting. The wind is the great equalizer, as it seems to always blow into your face on the tough finishing holes. Basically a grip it and rip it venue that's very enjoyable. Don't expect any luxurious amenities in the clubhouse. Nearby town of Davis has some locally owned restaurants. Course has a nice driving range. I've seen bears on a couple of occasions.
Amazing greens!
Outstanding vistas and greens. Few trees, but tough in other ways. The greens build confidence — very true, not difficult to read, and smooth with good speed. This high valley n the most untainted can bring strong winds on occasion.
