The Links at Hiawatha Landing

About
The Links at Hiawatha Landing sits along the banks of the Susquehanna River, nestled between the Finger Lakes and the Catskill Mountains. It's one of New York's premier upscale public golf courses. Despite the name, the course has more of a heathland layout than a true links course since it lacks the seaside location that is the cornerstone of traditional Scottish links golf courses. The design still has many links features though including windswept sand bunkers. The rolling terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic and the tall grasses make accuracy a necessity. Water comes into play on seven holes but there aren't any forced carries or blind shots, making the golf course approachable for even high handicappers. The Links at Hiawatha Landing finishes with a challenging par 5 that doglegs left around a large pond.

First links outing
Course was fantastic everyone was friendly. Hotdogs 10/10
Beautiful...but...
The leaves were at peak...the course was wet...the weather was warm. Played it years ago. Great layout. Good greens. Interesting holes. Unfortunately the course is not what it once was. The cart paths are in dreadful condition. Condition was good but only good and not 5 star quality by any means. Nobody seems to fix ball marks. Fun day but the course is a little run down. Kind of makes sense I guess since it kind of out of the way. Here's hoping it regains its former glory.
Links at Hiawatha - Aug 23
Played early on Aug 23, and was started on back 9 .to accomodate a local group at 9 am. Really enjoyed the layout, and was impressed the greens had been cut to accommodate the early start. Found the fairways left tight lies, would not call them lush. Not awful at all, just not lush .. Rough was very challenging, mix of fescue, and natural inconsistent grasses. Perhaps not fair, but the day prior I had played Conklin Players Club about 30 minutes away. It was very lush, so part of the reason for my compare..Hiawatha Staff was first rate and I will play again ! Enjoyable morning.
Sunday Funday with friends
We had a great time playing Hiawatha, we brought friends along to our favorite weekend place to play. The pace of play was on que, and there were groups on every hole. The course is in great condition for as dry as it has been this month!
Never Disappoints
One of the best courses dollar for dollar I’ve ever played.
Lots of variety, challenging but not punitive.
Greens and fairways were in great shape, particularly given the dry summer.
I always look forward to playing here every year.

Have played the course several times when I'm in the area, and it's always in great shape. One of my favorite public courses in NY
A fun links style course for good value
The course was in great shape even though it hasn’t rained much. There were plenty of dead spots in the rough but all greens and fairways were in very good condition. It’s relatively flat but most greens are guarded by bunkers making it a bit challenging. A bargain of a price for a quality course. Will definitely be back
Links Golf
One of the best courses in our area always look forward to a chance to challenge the Links

Due to rain from previous weekend front 9 was still a little wet however back conditions much better and fairways where supreme for this early in the season
Awesome Course
This was my first round ever at Hiawatha. Golf course was in great condition, tee to green. I will definitely come back here again.
Hidden beauty
I played through a thunderstorm so there were delays, but the course itself was lovely. Built on a stretch of low rolling hills with few trees in play, the layout rewards considered shots. You don’t need your driver every time but you do need to play smart. I’d love to play again if I’m in the area. Many holes are bordered by tall fescue stretches that give it a “Scottish” feel. A number of ponds line other holes but you don’t play over water. Greens are in great shape and again, clever without being punishing. Great fun.
