Hidden Gem in the Countryside
First time playing there and was pleasantly surprised at the conditions and the nice layout.
Greens were somewhat fuzzy but rolled surprisingly well. It could have been a grass that I wasn't familiar with. One green, I think the 12th, I noticed small dandelions scattered about.
I really enjoyed the layout with the subtle rolling terrain. Certainly enjoyed my score of 78. Played one ball all day and found far too many balls just laying about.
Note: DO NOT play a yellow ball on the first or ninth holes. If you go right off the tee box you'll be looking forever amongst the yellow range balls that were scattered everywhere. Course staff need to do a better job at keeping those wild warmup shots off the first and ninth fairways. Players could do the same. If you come across a range ball, throw back onto the range and get it off the actual course.
Pace of play was dreadfully slow but that doesn't bother me nearly as much as people who complain about a 4:30 round.
I drove an hour to play here and would definitely like to go back. I would highly recommend giving this course a go. I think most golfers will enjoy it very much.
Great Course
This was our first time playing here and we loved it. We will definitely be playing there again. My wife is a beginner golfer and I am a weekend hacker. It was a nice course for the two of us to play. I played from the White tees at about 6,200 yards total and she played from the red tees. Course was challenging for me without being overwhelming for her. The greens on the front 9 had some contours and were a little trickier than the back nine. The back nine was trickier from tee to green but the greens were more flat and easier to putt.
Enjoyable
Great course for anyone who is looking for a challenge.
A Great Find
Was in Rantoul area for a meeting, had a little time, booked a round at Brookhill, what a great spread, super value, awesome greens. Definitely will play again
Ok
Course was in good condition considering the time of year. The sand traps need some help. Pace of play is very slow. What happened to golf etiquette? Very frustrating.
Nice well maintained course. Greens are great and the carts are fast
Good value
For the money, it's a good value. Have played here several times. The pace of play here is usually pretty bad, unfortunately. The same as most courses anymore. This next thing doesn't bother me much, but the sand traps are pretty sad. They were dragged and raked, but need more sand. I will play here again.
Nice little course
From the nice people in the clubhouse to the other players, everyone was so nice. Played by myself in a cart and other players willing to let me go through. Course was in good shape and greens ran true. Will definitely play again.
A nice course
30 min drive from Champaign-Urbana. Less crowed than the local courses. Tee box, fairway and green are maintained well. Bunkers are not in a great shape, dirts rather than sands. Greens are small and soft. Played a few holes to get used to the green. Played with my son before his school starts and finished a round in 3 hrs. A hot deal from GolfNow.
